Don't worry, we kept (I got) my wife's 2002 C240 with 165,000 miles on it but she is loving the GS. Frankly, MB has some catching up to do both with their E-Class and customer service at our local dealership.
Just wanted to pass it on...
I am in the process of cleaning up the Benz and number one on my list is to get the wheels clean and then find some 05-06 sport wheels.

Been wondering where the hell you have been.
Put up any more drag videos?

Work has been nuts. We have both been traveling all over the place. Plus, I am into RC aircraft at the moment, but no time to fly them or build them at this time.
No more drag videos yet but I have a turbo 400 that will replace my manual 6 speed, carbon fiber driveshaft, 6 point roll cage, and 90 mm FAST 90/90 intake manifold and throttle body to go in. I forgot the lightweight tubular K member too.
So, I don't have any video's now but when I pull my wheels 6 inches off the track, I will post them up this fall.
How ya been?
I think the GS350 handles good, better than our stock C240, but no where close to my Z.
The 240 has had some minor things like rear pinion leak, front control arm bushings leaking, dead battery, sun roof broke, rattle in roof, and some other very minor stuff but enough to warrant me to want my wife in a larger, newer car so I have piece of mind.

Ha, my dog's name is Shake...
Btw if you guys owned AMG mercedes you wouldnt give two flying *** about some GS whatever (ive driven a bunch of them, would rather take E350 over GS350, and a E550 over the GS450h ANY DAY)

For instance, I hate hitting the bottom side of the lock/unlock switch to raise the lock pins that unlock the door on my benz. It should have been hit the top side of that button. Little things like that stick out...
The arm rest is perfecto in the GS too compared to any C or E class I have sit in.
Quality problems are far less likely to happen with Lexus being tied to Toyota just for shear volume and reused packages with other cars and model lines.
However, my 500 mile trip today in my new C-Class was great!!

yeap. I perfer the GS over the E-Class.
But the GS is not as comfortable as the 5-Series. IMO.
But, then again, the GS is a great car. I just can't stand the small trunk and the old looking shift knob. The one on the 5-series is hella-sexy!

what the hell is wrong with all of you people. oh yeah, ill take a toyota avalon (gs) over a mercedes, oh how bout a toyota camry (es) or a toyota COROLLA (is) lexus is garbage. it took lexus two decades to FINALLY come out with a performance-oriented version of any of their cars... and guess what, its a souped up corolla. id rather take a c63 MUCH more comfy than some pos corolla or avalon.

SeeKLasse is right on!
Gotta agree w/u See! Its all I can do to not laugh everytime I see some goober in a Lexus, thinking they're a "competitor" to MB! Every amenity, every safety feature of substance,u can rest assured started w/MB...We dont even have to discuss the heritage & cache of Daimler Benz (only INVENTED the automobile-thats all) compared to Lexus,Toyota or any other ricey-auto,including Honda! Not trying to be pretentious or snobby...Just stating facts!

I understand the concept of ES model=Camry
but I never got the GS being a Avalon. or a IS being a corolla.
Thats a pretty stupid way to compare things.
the 2008 Toyota Avalon has a 110 inch wheel base, and the 2008 Lexus GS series has a 112.2 inch wheel base, basically, those two cars are based off a different chassis. its a different car.

All this talk of Bimmers and Lexus on a MB Board? Not to insult anybody, but this discussion should have been on a Lexus board IMO. It's like slapping MBWorld in the face, with an open back hand. LOL.
Anyway, most of the Lexus line is ok and they do have nice amenities but the suspension and steering is way too loosey-goosey. I got to drive the entire line, and did not like them enough to buy one. Cheap look of plastic turned me off too. Lexus has gotten really sterile and boring over the years, the IS-F is a definite good step.
Congrats on your GS.
