100 degrees out + AC = INSANE throttle lag?!
I know the engine is considered to be pretty slow, but once the damn thing wakes up and says "ohh hes pressing the gas pedal" it feels like its got good power.
Problem is since it got so hot out and ESPECIALLY with the A/C on I can floor it and the damn thing just sits there slooowly revving up until finally it jumps and goes. No check engine light.
Any ideas on what I can do to try and diagnose this or is it normal? I expect if I take it to the dealer they're going to tell me its normal, in which case, I should have bought a KIA.
or something to that effect.
BTW,
congrats on the new bimmer advans. that car is sick.
if you get it in white.. ima suggest getting bright silver HRE spoke style rims.. and no tint. I saw a 335 like that, and it was hott..

also, I've noticed the car's performance according to the amount of gas in the tank.
I've noticed that the car has the best response from full tank to 3/4 tank. then from 3/4 to 3/8 tank is rubbish. then less than that is best response. but...thats IMO.
also, try swapping out to brand new clean airfilters, it helps a bit.

The reason I'm not so sure is because it's not that I don't have power, its the damn lag. Once the car 'realizes' that i want to go it gets up and goes. Not that I'm defending the pig of an engine. It's my one regret with the car.
We have a beater car, a 1993 Saturn with over 100k on it - 85 HP when it was NEW. And that thing has NO throttle lag WITH the a/c on in this weather.
