It actually is quite relevant. AMG products are the items that justify a AMG badge. Let's regard AMG as a tuner, supplying products for Mercedes. People do not think you are a fake if you have AMG rims, exhaust, or bodykit (or all three). Remember the sport package? I seem to remember the CLK coming with AMG rims.
The AMG badge, to many on this board, is earned by having the complete AMG setup. Dinan believes in this methodology very much. Their badges can only be obtained with a minimum amount of modifications. Justifyably so. They want the cars carrying their badge to be a little bit further removed from the stock versions.

02impressor, trust me, you don't want to get the AMG keychain. It sucks big time. The first one i got was from my sales, it broke within 2 months. Now i have a second one for $2 bucks (got coupon from my local dealer). It's very close to breaking apart like the first keychain. I like how the keychain look, but if it breaks again. i'll just get some other MB keychain that has better quality.

I got the gunmetal AMG key chain as a gift. I can see where it can break easily - I am assuming that it breaks at the "watch-link" area where it flexs. Am I correct? I only have the smart key on the key ring - nothing else.

i don't carry anyother key other than my car key. So i got no problem with semi-big keychains. I always go through my garage into the house even when my car is parked outside.
I know you guys will probably ask "how will you get into the house if the garage door broke?". I guess i'll just sit on the driveway and enjoy the view.

I was thinking, for REAL AMG car, the Smart key should have the AMG logo (The ///AMG or the Apple tree & lifters) rather than the silver star.
