The problem with putting a remote start on a 2000 or newer Benz has nothing to do with the wiring of the product. The problem is that the Benz checks the key code at random intervals and continues to do this while the engine is running. If the car checks the key code while remote started and you have the key in the ignition, it will delete both codes and you will be stranded. That is why no one will put one on these cars. It is possible to put a remote start on these cars.......... it's just not a good idea. The only way around it is to tie the remote start shut down to the door trigger, meaning that when you open the door, the engine shuts down and then you restart it with the key. This will avoid the car seeing two keys at the same time.
