The winter this year is rather late. Today's high is around 60F and low 30F.

Usually it starts snowing after thanksgiving but not sure about this year.

I remember thanksgiving of 2005 it snowed like crazy in Chicago, lots of accidents and log afternoon commutes. Saw a poor b***** in an M3 just spinning wheels at a stop light. This was back when I had an Accord.

Just got a set of 4 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D's from TireRack. Don't like the comprimises All-seasons inherently have. I paid $666.66 for them including shipping (yeah, nice number huh). I then picked up some new W209 ///AMG replica 5 double-spoke wheels from Eurotech Motorsports in CA. I had originally thought about putting the winter rubber on the new wheels, but why ruin (with salt and snow) brand new wheels. So I'm going to swap the summer rubber on my OEM 2005 5-spokes with the new winter rubber, since my OEM wheels have a few scrapes on them. Then I'll put my summer rubber on the new rims.

I'm really liking the W209 style AMG double spokes. Can't wait for the Spring to throw 'em on.

for some reason my pads arent squeaking anymore after i put my stock wheels on i think they were squeaking b/c of the breaking in period anyways the car drives a lot smoother and no vibrations on the freeway, i think the vibration before was from one of my bubble tire in the front drivers side tire.

hey we should all post pics of our cars with the winter set up. i'll try to take some pics today!

So I was about to go ahead and get these but before I did, I asked if he could send pics of all four. He said they were burried in his garage and didnt want to get them out. Yeah great price but there is something fishy about it all so I passed on them So now im getting them from tire rack for a little ove 600 shiped. If I get them with tires it will be 1300 balanced and ready to go.

Now I can't make up my mind after seeing Advans' drop... H&R coils, Tein basic coils or just Eibach springs+Konis SS... I could get almost the same drop. Now it is about feeling of the ride...
soft enough but not bouncy, more like between E class and bimmer 3...
I know I'm asking u guys alot but I just don't wanna go wrong. so any suggestion to get close to that feeling?
thx.

On the subject of rims on w203's
I just had M-class amg 63 *replica's* fitted on my cl203.
It was at the dealer for a few days until they could source the right lugs.
okay.. after the long long and expensive wait, i was told that the front rims may be too wide, so the tire is about a bee's d*ck away from rubbing against the suspension. I have had 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 fitted. has anyone had problems of this sort? has the rubber ever hit the suspention struts (or whatever its called)?
please.. asap... would like to know before i get the old wheels put back on.

had the wheels put on yesterday, just want to share some pictures

I thinks 18" rims are away too heavy for a C240, it feels like having 2 passengers sitting in the backsit..

can someone please check if I have installed windshield wiper correctly? I know the right side is fine but not sure if I have installed the left side upside down.. thanks

Sounds like the problem is that the offset is too high, not that the wheels are too wide. There's plenty of people running 8.5" wide up front with no problems, but the offset should be 28-32mm. You can always run a thin (3-5mm) hubcentric spacer to push the wheels out slightly.

hrmm... okay, my offset is nowhere within that range..
it states: Offset: 35 & 35
these are the rims that i bought.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=130139392784

would i need spacers?. also, what would be the required clearence between the actual wheel well and 'suspention strut'. at the moment its approx. 2mm, so its very close. Im thinking.. if i was to go over a pot hole.. would i loose a wheel?

oh yes.. would ppl like pics? (happy to share and show off) im up for feedback on the looks, even if its criticism.

Do wheels fit the same on a coupe as they do on a sedan? As in are all the offsets the same and such.

Think this will be helpfull for lots, fill in the blanks.

What would the correct offset and tire size to run these wheel sizes. On a W203.
And how will the tires/wheels fit in the fender? Even, bluldging or strechted tires.

Front 17x9 ET? Tire size ___/___/17 Rear 17x10 Tire size ___/___/17

Front 18x9 ET? Tire size ___/___/18 Rear 18x10 ET? Tire size ___/___/18

Front 19x9 ET? Tire size ___/___/19 Rear 19x10 ET? Tire size ___/___/19

Maybe some of us don't have time to read though pages of crap to find one simple answer. So many of these threads are usless around here. If it's said once on the forum you think everyone should search for it. Instead of telling us to search maybe answer the question even if its been said before. Enough with my rant. What kind of modifacations need to be done in the front to fit 19x9? Or do I need to search for it?

Need to push the fenders out in order to make 19X9 work. Sorry, if you don't have time to read and need an answer. It's not necessarily the majorities problem, is it? Chassis has been around for 6 years already. It's too bad that life isn't handed to everyone on a silver platter, but hey, i'm not gonna hate, cuz I just answered your question. If you're gonna be ungrateful and disrespectful about it, i'll keep that in mind for future reference.
