Tire fitment questions? 18X8 wheels. help
18x8 all around.
I have two 245/40 18 sized tires that I got for cheap. So i want to put these on in the rear.
Now my question is... What size tires do i get in the front so that the overall diameter is the same (so that the car runs smoothly with no ESP intervention).
I am staggering the tires so I would like to go 225 sized tire in the front but dont know what size profile(sidewall) i should go. Is there any specific way to find this out, or can anyone help?
I posted this in the tire section, with no response. so hopefully you guys can help.

Using that tool to calculate, if you are going to use 245/40 on the back then you gotta use 225/45 in the front.
You'd get an even better match using 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 but I don't think you can get that 255 on an 8" wide rim. Plus, as you said, you have those 245's already cheap.

I bought some used Carlssons 1/16 ULs which were susposed to be 19". The seller thought they were 19" but they were 20". An honest mistake on his part. I might just ship them back to him, but he said he would be willing to pay extra for tires and adatpers to make it work on my car. I had already ordered 10mm and 12mm spacers from Carlsson via HMS and 235/265 tires from rlee02135 which would have worked perfectly if it was the 19" set up.
Here is the info....
Authentic Carlsson 1/16 ULs
Front: et 40 20"x 8.5" with 255/35/20
Back: et 45 20"x 9.5" with 275/35/20
I know the tires are huge, but I got those with the rims. What size tires and Carlsson Adapters should I get to make these work? Do you think I should just return these? I'm pretty bummed right now and I don't think 20" with thin tires would be a smart idea on Michigan roads. Suggestions on what to do?

tires. since these are 20" I would probably keep it 225/30/20 on the front and 245 or 255/30/20 on the rear. Those are your best options on tires. you will need to raise the car up for 20" clearance too.
