Guys, im sorry, i've read and read, i gues im too much of a dumbass to understand this.

Let me preface by saying I drive an ALL STOCK '01 C240.

I'm loooking into getting some Black rims for my car, I've read that stock, my car comes with 16" rims, so my main question is: Can I put on 18-19" rims without making any major changes?

What type of Rims do you guys suggest? I'm trying to get 18" Rims (if they it) that are black, and i'd like to keep the budget withing 600 dollars.

I've looked on tirerack.com and i've found a few good ones, but do you guys have any other sites that you recommend?

I'm very interested in ASA AR1 finish: Black w/ match lip

Any thought/opinions. I know i'll prolly be flamed and told to look in the search, trust me I tried, like i said, im too stupid to understand it.

With the right offset, 18-19" wheels should just bolt right up with no problems. Use one of the wheels suggested by tirerack for your car and you should be fine. '01 C240 suspension is EXTREMELY high so your car will look even funnier with the bigger wheels on stock suspension. I suggest lowering at the same time, if you can afford it.

Aftermarket wheels on stock suspension

What would be a good size for wheels if I have no plans on lowering the car? I'm worried gettting that if I get too big of a wheel that it may look high.
Thanks

06 has a sport suspension already (lower), which is fine with 19".

I was leaning more towards 18". Would getting 18" wheels still give it a lowered apprearance?

runnin 18's isnt that bad. just make sure your wheels and tires are 25lbs EACH! its like steering a train. although you might wanna cut a section out of stock springs so it doesnt look like your 4wheelin when u get ur 18's

I would go 17" IMO, 18" or higher would most definitely make the car look much higher from a good distance.

You guys are harsh. My experience has been that it depends on the type of wheels you get. Wheels that don't have any lip tend to look bigger, because the face of the wheel is flush........ my old mille miglia evo5's made the car look like it was jacked up because the 18's looked bigger than what they were. Now, the new RR279's I have look perfect with the stock suspension because they have lip which makes them look smaller IMHO, thus matching my fender gap. I guess I am the only one in this thread to have 18's. I like my ride quality and tire prices

2006 C55 AMG, 2.8L Quattro, Softail Nostalgia 1550 (Stage III), Sporster (slammed)
And when it comes to tires, I recently tried Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel. It rocks. It goes on like a gel but it stays on and looks good even after 2 weeks and 2 or 3 car washes. It is slimy but it works great. I love it.
