How to get codes from car who to take it to?
Just wondering were to take the car to get these codes and find out whats up with my car. It idles rough and shakes at stop lights some times not all but its very annoying. Some ppl say it could be a MAF some say vacuum leak. I just wanna find out what it is. oh and if anyone knows the ball park price range on the diagnostic. Thanks

I Got the car at 70k miles the car now has 78k.. Ive never had a check engine light.. I did an oil change and thought it would fix it but no go. I cleaned the air filters but im going to buy new ones soon. Dunno what to do. Its annoying that it only does it sometimes but its starting to do it more.

rough idle may be spark plugs, dirty fuel injectors, or engine mount. I'd try some of the Chevron fuel injector first or Locus fuel injector cleaner (which from the one I used seems to work the best). If that doesn't help check each and every spark plugs make sure they're all good. If that doesn't help check the engine mount. engine mount will be more expensive to replace because of labor.

Unless these items are going bad, and then correcting themselves, then going bad again I doubt it's any of them. Intermittent problems are hard for anyone to fix. Start by having a mechanic hook it up to the diagnostic machine(s) and see if it shows anything. If it doesn't, then start throwing parts at it. Marginal fuel pumps and cats with loose plates also cause the symptom you're experiencing.

if your car's throwing out codes..you can go to autozone to download them for you. If you pay the fee, they'll translate the codes and tell you what they stand for.
