Sway Bar end link broke... can I remove it and drive until tomorrow?

If I take it easy and remove the link temporarily, can I drive the car until the part comes in tomorrow?
Cheers,
JB

Yes.

You don't technically "need" a sway bar, yet your car will not perform well in corners as the sway bar balances load and controls body roll.

Avoid aggressive cornering.

Keep in mind the stiffness of the end you take the link off of will decrease significantly. If you are talking about the front, then you'll be likely to spin out; lots of understeer if you're talking about the back. Like amanonfire said, take it easy, especially if it's wet.

Actually in the wet, I would be inclined to think you could get more traction. No sway bar would allow the car to "Load" on the outside. Thus more grip.

I would undo both sides, and insure that nothing is going to get banged on.

I concur with Ed.

Last thing you want is the swaybar moving up and down to possibly knock something else loose and even worse, until it eventually falls off and causes a road hazard for other motorists

You're right about that for the end where the sway bar is taken off. What I'm saying is the difference in stiffness between the front and back can cause the car to either spin (lots of grip up front, little in the back) or push (lots of grip in the back, little in the front) when only one sway bar is in place.

I only drove short distances and now have the part in hand, so I can install it today. Thanks to all for the advice!

glad it worked out with no issues. while u install or have it installed, I suggest checking everything else, just to be sure. u want to make sure that no excess stress was placed on other parts of the suspension.

I really don't think you'll be "likely to spin out" unless your Sterling Marlin of course, in fact I bet you never notice the difference, I have a W210 and the bar itself is worn on the end, I took it off until I can find one, noooo noticeable difference. Oh there was that one time I was doing 140 on the slalom course.
