My 240 turned off and didn't start back up!

I had gotten off somewhere to get something and had left the car on. When I got back to the car, it was off. I tried turning it on and it just cranked but wouldn't turn over. The warning message said: alternator/battery. The battery is fine b/c everything works, so I guess it's the alternator. Had to have it towed to the dealer last night. What a damn x-mas gift. And I just found out that my exgirlfriend's new boyfriend is the tech that'll be working on it. That has me kind of worried... whenever I pick it up, I'm going to have to inspect it real well. ^*&^%#!!!! I'm pissed!!!

Tariq, 90% of the parts comprising the C240 and C320 are THE SAME.

I have a C240 and my car is fine. No major problems yet, and hardly any minor problems. I have a 2001 with almost 30,000 miles.

some people's car continously have problems and some people don't. It's all about luck i guess.

The fuel pump failing is not new to the 240. My ML430 fuel pump failed about 12 months after I purchased it. When it failed (2000), the ML forums were full of reports that the fuel pumps were failing. As it turns out the the European manufcaturer of fuel pumps does not know how to prevent contamination for preventing the pump shaft from seizing. This happens without any warning. Some people reported being able to tempoartily unsiezxe by beating on the bottom of the fuel tank (not recommended but may be required for those out in the boondocks with an ML). The fix was a new fule pump with a better filter on the intake. Reports are still floating around that the manufacturer still has not resolved the problem and it is common on many European make cars, Audi and VW have been mentioned as well as MB.

The biggest problems we had in the beginning were window malfunctions. Every powered window but one had to have stuff replaced inside at least twice.

If not for the windows, it would have been a lot more trouble free.
