C230 Coupe 2002 Mods?

As much as I am into modding, I'm not at all familiar with Eurpoean cars and my C230 is no exception, i still know very little of mods to make it a teeny bit faster. I'm not looking to spend alot or get like a 100 hsp but if my car touchs or gets slightly over 200 hsp ill be happy. so my car is all stock except for the fact that i have custom 17 inch rims, other then that. What is there to do and where can i find it in Canada??

A pulley upgrade is probably the most common. There's other stuff. Your motor is the M112. Search this forum for M112 and pulley. That'll get you started.

Yes, 2002 is M111. Search on ASP pulley for your 1st mod.
Adds 30 Hp for not too much $$.

2002 C230 Coupe
I was reading other threads and someone had said that an ASP pulley is better is more saaafe?, cuz as much as i want to add taht small 40 hsp on my auto i dont want to damage my car. but i dunt know where to find it in Canada, as imcurrently in Edmonton alberta. as well is it difficult to install?? or would it be more safe to just go to a mech?. and what do you guys think will be the pros and cons? i basicly use my car for work and traveling back home which is a good 400 k a trip. so i cant afford anything to happen to my car? you think a pulley would be a safe bet?

I have not heard of a single issue with version two of the ASP pulley. I'm one of the few Kleeman Pulley users, and have had no problems. My engine is at 168k miles.

Do search, this stuff is covered along with a DIY install guide.

Or you could fly C230 Sport Coupe up to Alberta and he'll do it for ya.

Yo, and my GF too....

I've had ASP pulley for 100K miles. No issues related to the pulley.
And E, it's actually version 3.
Version 2 was alloy with a steel sleeve.
Version 3 (the current version) uses a stock pulley with a ring pressed on.
Works great!
Best part is the low end torque. The engine doesn't have to work as hard
at low rpms.
Contact Lee at ASP racing http://www.aspracing.com/index.html

I'm sure he can ship to Canada.
As far as install, depending on your mechanical ability....
the main thing is there's a key on the crankshaft.
Not lining it up correctly can result in disaster, as well as not torquing the
bolt down enough, putting pressure on the key.

Other than that, it's all good.

I would suggest reading up on the install, then getting a good mechanic to do it, but watch them carefully ,make sure they understand about the
woodruff key, and torque to 200 ft lbs.

As far as pro's and cons,
Pro's- drives much better,
Cons- None really. If you drove WOT all the time you might put some strain on the engine, but since we're not, it seems to work fine, power comes in smooth, less shifting.
