Hey guys I bought an 03 c230 sport bumper recently, got it painted and everything only to find out that my current 02 c240 bumper reinforcement doesn't fit on the c230 sport bumper. I have talked to my loca dealer and they said that they can't find me the right bumper bracket w/o knowing the vin number of the car. Unfortuanetly i bought the bumper online and there's no way I can get that vin number. So if anyone has a vin number for the 03-04.5 c230 or c320 sport sedan then hook me up!!
I have attached pictures...
the top of the reinforcement lines up with teh bumper but the bottom part doesn't seem to fit all that well...I have cut away at the area arounf the fog light...but it still doesn't seem to be fitting...does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do to make it fit...or if someone has one lying around that they would like to sell them PM me...it would dave me a lot trouble and $$$ money than buying from the dealer. thanks.

It would not hurt to ask them...maybe the have one not listed.

Just curious: how do you remove the bumper reinforcement from the bumper?

it's pretty easy you just have to break or take off 2 of the rivets on the top of the bumper and there's one rivet on each side of the bumper behind the impact strips....and the rest is just unclicking the clips...

I see at least 4 2003 C230 sedans on ebay.

thanks guys for all of your help.....I figured it out by cutting away a piece of the hard plastic near the foglights on the back on teh reinforcements...
