Can this be fixed?
Its very annoying that mines the only car with this big of a gap.
I've tried to push it but that didn't work hmm.

but the gap is like that, i also thought my car was broken, but it's not. so just let it be and don't trip chocolate chip
I just went out to the garage to take a look at my wife's C320 SS
and there's no gap at all between those strips on her car.

It does look a bit odd. Maybe it's the center strip that needs to be centered.
Also, looks like it's time for a haircut.

Anyways how do you remove them with out taking the bumper off? Or does the bumper have to come off for me to fix it.
It just bugs me because i look at my friends car everyday at work and his are perfectly together.
The Chrome bar that goes around the back of the car should look all together like one. If you look in the gaps you can tell its apart.
As much as I'd like to say this is an easy fix, I can't. I really feel you are going to need to take this to a body shop for some minor re-alignment. It might cost more than the irritation is worth. Good luck.
By the way, there's a good shop in town, between Pay-Less Shoes and Fantastic Sam's.
Edit; my car does not have the gap. The two pieces butt up tight to each other on both sides.

Maybe Pay-MORE Shoes. Remember he's got size 16's down there.

I just checked my car (2005 C230 SS) and it has the same gap as Mr. Size 16 has on his car. In fact, I'm surprised that Saprissa's wife's car has no such gap, as all the C's I've seen all seem to have this. Plus, I know my vehicle has never been involved in any accident. Wonder what gives?
Could the acceptable tolerance range be so high for these bumper strips? Meaning they can be, for example any length between 6 feet and 6 feet 1 inch? Get it??...feet....ha ha haha

Sorry....basically the 6 foot being loose fitting and showing a 1/2 inch gap on either side versus the 6 foot 1 inch strip with that extra inch filling in the gap on either side? I would think MB tolerances would be tighter than that.Any guesses?
Saprissa...is your wife's car a US-spec model or a Euro/ROW model? Reason I ask is that the Euro/ROW models have the bumper strip with the Parktronic sensors. Who knows, even though it's basically the same strip, only with holes cut out, they may be made on different machines, which might be calibrated differently in terms of cutting lengths for the strip. This might also be the case if the bumper and the strips are sourced from different suppliers.
