best way to add 10-20 horsepower
any one know of a way to add 10-20 hp to my 2001 c240??
someone recommended that i add a new exhaust system.... do people have experience with this? which exhaust system should i look into? i've also been told to go for a new pulley - any recommendations on the best bang for my buck, OVERALL?
also, are there any short shifters available for the c240?

A new exhaust system may net you a whole 5hp, but for the money, we never recommend anything short of headers for power. I've heard the C7 short shifter (from the coupe) will work, but we have yet to verify this.
We manufacturer the only Underdrive Pulleys for the Mercedes, which definitely makes them the best bang for the buck! Compared to the HP/dollar on other products, they are also much cheaper. For $499, you will add 13hp at the wheels (about 15 crank), without changing the way the engine runs. BrabusCClass has them on his C240. Do a search or email him, he's had nothing but good things to say. 13hp at the wheels is almost a 10% increase in power, all for $499 plus install.

Cheapest 10 ponies you can get, and has the added benefit of improving your stopping ability as well!

Also, if that isn't enough, have you tried stickers. I hear "power by Honda" works the best.

my buddy has a c240 auto and he added an "AMG" emblem on the back and a "kompressor" badge on both sides of the front fenders. he dyned at a 16hp increase over stock. i think thats the best bang for the buck.

okay, okay....enough of the sarcasm. actually i want to add some more power such as exhaust (very soon) and even a UD pulley from evosport. but then i reasoned: my freakin stereo system in the trunk adds some 200 pounds+ so whats the point of spending more money on performance when i just keeping adding stuf to slow it down again. so my decision is to just get the exhaust for sound and style and thats it.

Well you add stuff to slow it down and you add stuff to speed it up to make up for all that you added 
Nothing wrong with that hehe. Don't get a cheap exhaust, or at least don't let the people on these forums see it if you do get one :p

carbon fiber hood will be around 20 pounds i think, get some light eight wheels, like the OZ superlegerra's 18" at only 18 pounds.
that will make your car faster, then if that is not enough add a new rear end.
weight is your enemy!!!!
