I think hes just surprised that Brabus would not do any ecu tuning because they do some extensive tuning on MB cars. Again, i would be surprised if they didnt touch the ECU after some of their more serious mods.

My point is that, this is interesting and everyone could talk about it...not every thread needs to be Flamin session...

I am quite sure they don't touch the ECU, even for there mods such as displacement enlargement etc... I have their catalog and they have a price for every little thing even Engin Break in service is 1250, if your engin has more than 20000 miles on it they charge you an extra 1500 ...etc... bottom line is if they touched the ECU - BRABUS would charge you a million bucks for it, and it be in the catalog.

Tommy this thread also helps me (and perhaps others) set a direction for my M271, for example Renntech does ECU and Pulley vs. Carlosson does only pulley but Carlsson claims bigger numbers....

Carlsson is using the M111 numbers and dyno charts for the M271. They are not correct.

I've asked Brabus why they don't do ECU tuning. They said tuning the ECU did not give them stable enough results to be in line with OEM specifications.

Not sure why you wouldn't get stable results, especially if it only requires flashing the ECU, but it could be some agreement Brabus has with MB.

Just curious...if you're willing to email it to people, why don't you just post it on the forum.

Might save you the tedious process of replying and re-attaching the file over n over...just a thought.

You should get the steering wheel as well! Vast improvement, even over the stock C32 one.

Does your part list include the engine kit for the new twin pulse engine or not?

I have a c320 and there is a brabus tuning program that bumps my original 215HP to 243HP. ANyone one know what it consists of and how much? I think it's called 9S.

Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG (R 230) and CLK 55 (W 209)
BRABUS C V8 S-Version

Mega Power for the Mercedes C-Class:
BRABUS 6.1 S increased-displacement engine with 445 hp / 327 kW

BRABUS powers the new special model BRABUS C V8 S with this 445 hp / 327 kW high-performance engine – but that's not all. The engine conversion is also available for the new Mercedes models C 55 and SLK 55, which will be sold later this year.

The eight-cylinder engine of the current Mercedes C-Class has a long successful tradition at BRABUS: Since the start of sales of the W/S/CL 203 series BRABUS has been fitting sedans, wagons and sport coupes with BRABUS eight-cylinder technology. The latest evolutionary stage is the BRABUS C V8 S, built in small-series production starting at 99,900 Euros.

The heart of this high-performance automobile is the BRABUS 6.1 S increased-displacement engine, based on the new high-revving eight-cylinder three-valve engine from the CLK 55, also available for this model.

To facilitate the displacement increase to 6.1 liters BRABUS uses a custom-machined engine block, a crankshaft with longer stroke, and larger pistons. The cylinder heads are also precision-machined and fitted with special camshafts.

A stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with performance headers and metal catalysts also contributes to the impressive power yield as do custom-programmed engine electronics. The engine, the custom-calibrated five-speed transmission as well as the BRABUS locking differential are all operated with ARAL high-performance lubricants. The custom-developed locking differential is essential for the excellent traction of the driven rear wheels and optimizes acceleration
performance.

With 445 hp / 327 kW of power at 6,000 rpm and an enormous peak torque of 635 Nm at 4,500 rpm the BRABUS C V8 S delivers extraordinary performance: The special model accelerates in just 4.5 seconds to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h.

At those speeds efficient aerodynamics are of the utmost importance: The BRABUS front apron lends the C V8 S a more striking appearance and reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. The BRABUS rear apron with integrated diffuser provides the optimal aerodynamic balance.

The enormous performance potential places high demands on tires, suspension and brakes. The BRABUS C V8 S comes with multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock VI light-alloy wheels in size 8.5Jx19 on the front axle and in size 9.5Jx19 in the rear. The good-looking double-spoke wheels are fitted with tires in sizes 235/35 ZR 19 in front and 265/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle. BRABUS recommends Michelin and Pirelli high-performance tires.

Together with its technology partner SACHS BRABUS custom-developed a comfortable sport suspension with gas-pressure shocks, sport springs and custom sway bars for the new C V8 S.

The BRABUS C V8 S also comes equipped with six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355-mm vented and cross-drilled discs on the front axle, and 300-mm discs with four-piston aluminum fixed calipers in the rear. This high-performance brake system was calibrated to work with the standard driving-dynamics systems ABS, ASR and ESP. Even under extreme braking stress these brakes guarantee maximum endurance and stopping power.

The interior of the BRABUS C V8 S exudes an especially exclusive ambiance with its soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather. For safe vehicle operation the high-performance machine comes with an ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel. The sporty character is further reinforced with polished BRABUS aluminum parts such as foot pedals and shift knob.

Impressive. Besides upgrading the lubricants, I'm assuming they upgraded the guts in the rest of the drivetrain to handle the extra hp and torque.

QUestion about Brabus

These cars are awesome, no doubt. However, in doing a cost-benefit analysis, Brabus doesn't seem close to worth the price for this conversion. I mean, for 99,000 Euros, there are a ton of brand new sport sedans you could get that don't involve extensive modification to an existing vehicle (and the dealer warranty issues it entails).
I guess you do get something unique, but it is still just a C-class, right (not that there is anything wrong with our C's but 99,000 Euros?).

This amount is about $125,000 US!!
For that price I could ge an E55 AMG and and a c-class!
If I wanted exclusivity could get a sweet Maserati Quattroporte with plenty of change to spare!
And all of this without having to worry about how to get my car fixed should a Brabus part go down.
No slam intended on Brabus upgrades to such owners (I love Brabus parts), but isn't this way too pricey for a C-class conversion?

having a full brabus car from the inside out is pretty exclusive..not many people have it....so its not that much of a rip off....is about status...

i think ppl in asia wont find it a rip off..

for example...if you pay 80,000 usd for a C240...you wont think 99,000 euro is expensive for a CV8
