Deleting "NO Phone"
Dealer refused to delete the No Phone message during service "A", car is currently in the shop service guy calls to update status of the car and says that deleting is a time consuming effort and they will do it but will charge about $89.
Anybody have this removed in NOVA? was there a charge?

Should take them about five minutes to turn off “NO PHONE” screen via StarDiagnosis.
Here are the StarDiagnosis menus to page through for changing the phone status: Control Units -> Info. and Comms. -> ICM -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Optional Equipment
Sounds like they don't know how to do it and are giving you the run around.

I took the directions and handed them to my service writer. He said fine, will give it to tech, didn't take more than 5 minutes, no charge while my car was having the factory service. Sound like you're getting yanked.....

No service appointment needed with mine. He didn't know how. Downloaded instructions from here, drove up, waited 5 minutes while partaking a few free refreshments from the dealers waiting area and off I went. No charge.
Yup, I agree. Sounds like they are trying to yank your chain.
I almost got mine to the point where he wants to look on here first before talking to MB.

That is quite annoying, that 'no phone' message. Why do they configure their cars with that message when you don't have the phone at all? You'd figure they'd just leave that message out altogether.

Dealer goes "Uhhh..."
Just dropped my car off for a sunroof control unit replacement and asked them to delete the "No Phone" message. Service told me that it can't be done. I told him to check his e-mail, I had just mailed the instructions. With that deleted, it should make the sequence on the MFD make some sense.
Do people who don't read these boards just accept all this stuff as normal? I've brought so many things to the dealer's attention, including the 3rd button issue-which even the Regional Service Manager didn't know about!
