Computer diagnostic thing that you can do programming with. It's necessary for the change of the EIS. You definitely need a professional to do that.

A mercedes Benz proprietary diagnostic machine (computer) - some built by IBM - that is used with an interface via the 38 pin or OBDII port on the car to diagnose & programme all of the cars systems. These things are hellish expensive but some Indy shops do have them. Warning - you need to find someone who knows what they are doing because the EIS forms the top of the control pyramid - so to speak

again, I say thank you for jewelz you gave me. next step is to wait for income tax to pay for such a costly resolve. it was great conversing with you. I would like to say I enjoyed the verbal boxing match that we endured when we first crossed paths almost just as much. I will try to update this thread when my resolve has reached completion but if these threads are time sensitive, I assure you that I will create another one and indubitably include you as a poc and ultimately the turning point in getting the ball rolling in the right direction. and all it costed was time and linking up with the right person. in conclusion I am signing off fore I have nothing else to offer but to keep my promise and update when the actual job has reached its point of completion. fyi I have unsubsribed from the other thread. it seems that more people have decided to hop on the bandwagon and attack me. ha ha. again GLYN, thanks for everything sir.

Sorry - then giving some warnings about changing the car battery with a quiescent power device would have been a good idea. You can't just change a battery on a Benz without knocking every processor on the car out of whack. You have to keep all the systems powered up.
