The Best of Mercedes & AMG

This is not a common problem or half the taxis in Germany would be at a standstill. That said:
You require a new EIS & keys. The module is failing & the inductive PS that powers the IR unit in your key has come to the end of it's useful life. (warming helps this condition). Had you done your homework you would know that you bought the worst C320 you could possibly have. This was at the start of the W203 production cycle. These cars were computer endurance tested (virtual) and never saw durability testing on the road. Early units were extremely troublesome - especially in the electronics area. These problems were worked out in production over time & due to warrantee experience.
This repair will cost approx. US$ 1700
Should you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask politely! - Good luck.
I call it like it is. I hope you feel better

I appreciate that. you are right I didnt do my homework and I did make sort of an impulse buy. I in no way want to be rude. and I have apologized for it. unlike many others, you actually deserve an apology. because you didnt attack me. I appreciate that. you know the old saying "ignorance is expensive" so now I will have to pay. at the very least I have a starting point. I wish you would have replied sooner. Thanks again.

although I am sure you can sympathize with me after reading some of the replies that people leave on this forum

I happen to agree with mleskovar. Assumption is the mother of all f---ups when it comes to troubleshooting and many other things - especially by remote control!

do you see what I mean. Although I think this noreaga guy was just being jestful. I checked some other eis posts/threads and I think you are on it dog gone it. again, thanx. I am also impressed on how you managed to insult me in a nice way. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I thought that was pretty entertaining, yet boring at the same time. not slick, definitely old school. I will disregard your insults because you gave good advise. again thank you.

BTW - Remember you need a STAR DAS to encode the keys to the EIS
