Koni FSD w/ Eibach Pro-kit for my C240
I've been reading up a little and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go with Koni FSD dampers and Eibach Pro-kit springs for my 2003 C240. There area few things that I can't figure out though...
1. What spring shims/pads do I have in the front and rear to begin with?
2. Do the Koni FSD dampers come with new shims?
3. If I already have #4 shims then should I consider buying #1 shims for all 4 corners when I do this?
4. How necessary is it to do a set of Eibach sway-bars as well?
5. Is this a good set up for my C240?
Thank you!

Hi Speed Demon, Here's my 2 cent's worth:
1. No shims/pads in the fronts. Rear will depend on how your car is optioned, etc. My 2004 C240 wagon had #4's from the factory. (No longer, however as I went with H&R coilovers and they do not use the pads/chims at all in the rear)
2. No, they wont come with the pads. Dealer, and few other places sell them. They are not too much $$. Let me know if you need a link to site that sells them. I know a few of the sponsers on here sell them.
3. #1's would be the lowest- that's what i would personally go with. Just hope that the front comes down equally and that the back is not too low vs. the front. If you read through the suspension thread, i think there's some pics of few that have Eibach set-up running #1 shims in back. It like 20 plus pages, so its long search..
4. That all depends on your driving style, etc. You can certainly run with the stock sways and if you feel you are still getting too much body roll after lowering, add the Eibach sways later.
5. Koni's are great shocks. Eibachs are typically a bit softer/closer to factory ride then say Tein or H&R. Ride is a pretty subjective topic, but certainly a good set-up. Both respected well known brands and they work well together.
Keep us posted and post up some pics.
Cheers, Greg

@glocati, awesome response! Thank you very much.
I'm going to do some digging to find those shots of the Eibach Springs with the #1 pads.
The car is my daily driver and I already have a very nicely modified BMW E46 that I drive when I want to be in a really sporty car. I'm looking to keep the ride as close to stock in dampness as possible while still getting a significant improvement in handling.

What does everyone think of me running H&R Sport springs instead of the Eibach Pro-Kit?
Either set of springs would be ran with the Koni FSD dampers. I'm mostly concerned that the H&R Sport springs may not match up as well with the FSD dampers since Koni & Eibach supposedly team up and make sure their stuff works perfectly together. Thoughts?

I'm just worried that the Eibachs are going to give the car an uneven ride height since they drop it 1.2" on all 4 corners. It seems like every picture I've seen with Eibach dampers shows the front with a lot more wheel gap than the rear. Thoughts?
The H&R Sports on the other hand drop it 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the rear.

i had the eibachs on my car before...the front is the perfect drop with only one finger gap and the rear only go with shim pad 1 if you want that tucked look. I personally would stick with the shim 4 or shim 3 as it is even with the front. hope that answers your question

My '04 c230 sport sedan seems like it's already low in the back. After reading through all this somewhat gives me an idea. But what if I just drop the front to where it's tucked under the fenders and leave the back stock since it's only a finger gap? And is 1.4 even low enough to look like the front is lower than the back? Cause I've seen some that are dropped and the front is still higher just like SPEEDDEMON stated. My old project car ('00 Honda Accord) I dropped the front 3 1/2 inches and the back 2 to give it that angle look and that's what I like. So I was wondering what's ya'lls response on just dropping the front.

I'm going to jack my car up this weekend to take some measurements and see what spring pad I've got in the rear. I definitely want to give it the even wheel gap raked look so I may add a thicker spring pad if necessary.
