18" Wheels, what do you think

I was thinking of getting these 18" wheels that QC1 is trying to do a group buy for. They want $495 for the set but if enough people buy in then it may drop to $400-450 depending on how many people want it. Here's my car, photoshoped with the wheels.

$400? That's pretty cheap for 18s! Is this some sort of web-based dealer? If it is, is there a site?? I'd like to see some other options at regular price. And it's hard to tell from the photos, but do these wheels have a lip?

Their business is in San Diego and I've made arrangements with Ryan, the owner to visit their shop on Saturday and inspect the quality on behalf of some people on the forum that wanted these wheels. I don't know what size it comes in and offsets and lips but I'll ask when I go. The size they advertised is 18 x 8" and they come in silver as in my picture above and chrome for $200 more.

Those look great! And for that price, it'll be hard to beat those.

don't really like the wheels, but for that price it can't hurt to try them.

When you visit, be sure to weigh them.

OK, I just got off the phone with Ryan, the representative for Eurotech and these are the final prices he told me, Keep in mind the more we get ordered the less the price, so these prices are worst case scenario. Also there is no duty for Canadians shipments which is awesome. I have done my research and Eurotech is nothing but respected. The rims have a Lifetime structural warranty also.

18" Silver Lustre Premium Mercedes Benz Wheel Package Including Mercedes Center Caps. The price is $550 including shipping. Heres the pic of the silver

Heres Bulles pic:

18" Triple Chrome Custom Mercedes Benz Wheel Package Including Mercedes Chrome Center Caps. The price is $750 including shipping. Heres the pics of the chrome

If your interested please e-mail me gkiousis@rogers.com and tell me which Rim you want and your model & year so we can get the invoice's e-mailed out.

I don't think they come in anything other than 18x8 but I'll ask. What do you mean by lip size? If you are reffering to the deep lip 3 piece wheels that some forum members have then you are probably looking at about $1,000/wheel. All depends on your budget.

This is a manufaturer/distributor of that one specific wheel and not a wheel shop like Tirerack, that's why we can get a deal. I haven't found AMG rims to get excited about. The CLK style are nice but and older bland design. The C32 wheels are OK I guess. What AMG wheels do you want, I can ask around, maybe Tirerack will do something.

oh, i did not realize that was the manufactuer of the wheels.

I would not mind the CLK rims only if they are the newer one like on my CLK which are the AMG ultrathin-spoke monoblocks, i personally dont like the older CLK rims which are thicker.
I even like the AMG wheels on the CL55, which are AMG double-spoke design. 8.5Jx18 front, 9.0Jx18 rear. I know these will be very expensive though.
Or even the SLK32/C32 rims are fine. Just try for any good AMG rims with a good price. (i like them all)

Im assuming most people are waiting for Buellwinkle to come back from Eurotech with more information and maybe some pics before they decide on the rims, but could you post if your seriously considering purchasing a set, I just need to know where we are on the group buy

Are tirerack's prices too much for you? Because I think they are one of the cheapest. Much less than the dealer anyway. $289 a piece for the ones on your CLK. $329 for the wider rears if you want them. It looks like the 289 ones are a special right now. $299 and $309 for the C32 wheels. Try to get your dealer to get them wholesale from tirerack for you. They will be about $50 cheaper, but the dealer might mark them up to make a profit.

Its not that the tireracks prices are high, because they happen to have good deals on alot of things. Its just that i am not really looking for new rims since i personally like the C7 ones, and i get alot of compliments on them. But if i was to get a great deal on other rims i may be willing to try something new. Who would i goto in my dealer to ask if i can get the rims for wholesale prices?
i doubt they would give that to me anyway.

btw- Buell if the AMG rims dont work out from the tirerack what about the Carlsson 2/5 Brilliants?

While looking at the tirerack website i can not believe that 19x9" moda R6 are only 249 a peice!

You would probably have to know someone, which it sounds like you don't. They won't even change your fuel settings, so they probably won't do this. I order the tires for used cars at my dealer, and we use tirerack. But your dealer may not. We let employees of the store get stuff without markup. But I have found that when you do a markup of 10-15%, it ends up being more than just buying them retail.

I wanted the Moda R6 in the first place but not at twice the price. The Carlsson 2/5 are very heavy rims, 33 lbs. each in 18" size, you can get the Rondell that are exactly the same for $848 a set. I know that Linh has both, the real Carlsson 2/5 on his CLK and the Rondell look alikes on his SLK and they look identical.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6782

You can get the AMG new CLK style knockoffs from the same guy for about $750.

Your right, no one at my dealer would do that for me.

Well the 18" moda R6's are $916 for a set, how much lower could they get if there was a group buy?

And i dont mind if nothing can be worked out with the carlsson's they were never my favorite anyway.

Oh yea, lol i would never spend $750 on those fake AMG CLK rims that dont even say AMG on them.

trade anybody?

i would do a trade if anybody is interested.

i have 225/40/18 kumho 712 tires all on 4 rims. front tires 3k miles of wear, and 2k miles of wear on the rear tires.

the wheels are chrome 18x8 all around. the offsets don't fit c. e. clk vehicles, but i have the spacers for front and rear to make it fit on your car. here is a pic of my car again.

i am in the process of selling my car so if it is possible to go back to stock that would be great. i am open to reasonable offers. just shoot me an e-mail: linhhoang1001@yahoo.com

i will ship only in USA, plus - i would need your wheels first cuz i do not have spare set. we have to set up something if you are wiery of fraud.

The news that many have been waiting for, the onsite review of these wheels. They only come in 2 sizes 18" x 8" and 20", they come in three finishes; silver, polished and chrome. The silver has a very nice high quality finish, equal to high end wheels, the polished looked the best to me, not overly bright like the chrome but very nice, the chrome wheels look good if you like chrome and I have chrome wheels so I would lean towards the polished ones. Ryan wasn't there so I didn't talk price but I know that the polished are half way in price between the silver and chrome. The casting quality looked good, no sharp edges or casting flaws which really would have showed up in the polished ones. They are made in Italy. The only negative to some is the weight, at 33 lbs. they are identical in weight to some 18" tuner wheels like the Carlsson 2/5 which is similar in style. I know some of the AMG are similar in weight. Certainly not the light weight of Kineda's HRE wheels which cost thousands more.

I didn't know they came in 20" also, they probably cost a lot more. Anyway, I guess the question is who is for the buy. I make 1. Some people from other boards are interested also so hopefully we can get a good group together and get a good deal

I didn't ask much about the 20's because I didn't think they would fit the C-Class without fender mods.
