It will eventually ruin your maf. The oil on the filter bleeds through and gets all over ther crosshairs and generally makes a gummy mess internally. Stick with a good paper element and change regularly. It will provide all the air your motor can breath.

i've had k & N's for over a yr in my c32. Before that i've used them in my other cars with no problems. You won't notice much of a difference, except a slight increase in throttle response.
They do come a little over oil from the factory, just get a napkin and soak up the excess oil before you install them and it should be fine.

The only times there are ever any issues with the oil in KN filters is when owners decide to re oil their filters and don't do it properly.
We run KN filters in every car we tune and have for many, many years with 0 MAF issues. The amount of oil that would need to be on the filter would make it soggy to the touch. I've yet to see a KN filter from the factory with too much oil.
If you want some KNs we are a distributor, if you want OEM we have them as well.

i havent really had any problems but when i did run K&N i found that my maf was oily... luckily i found out early and replace filters with stock. K&N doesnt really increase HP that much so for me i just use clean stock filters rather than fun K&N. i rather replace stock filters more often and find my car running better

Don't do it. You risk fowling things up with the oil. The aftermarket filters do not catch nearly as much dirt, and they have much less surface area than the OEM filters. While you might get a VERY small performance boost it's just not worth it. The stock filters are plenty large and not restrictive. Those who feel more power probably swapped dirty clogged stock filters for new K&N filters.

it probably won't really help the c320's but i remember c32used did a comparison with stock filters, green filters and the K & N's. Both green and K & N filters improved his quarter mile times on the c32. So they do help, just not a lot.

Your MAF sensor is going to get dirty or cause a CEL eventually, whether you are running K&N's or stock. Either way, Pick up some MAF Sensor cleaner and follow the directions on the can. This $7 cleaner has made my CEL go away and saved me $430 (dealer quote to replace MAF). Oh yeah, it also got my buddies F-350 idling and running right too.

I was reading on e60.net that these K&N/Green filters are great only for SC/TURBO motors.
I use to be pro K&N, but after i put in stock filters again, they felt way better! I had K&N in my C320 and green in my ML500. they were horrible.
I gave k&n another try with the C55, had them on for a day, hated it. now i'm using dirty stock filters.

I just go the dual K&N set up and love the performance haven't had it long enough to see an increase in gas mileage. I own a few show cars and even have a car that I take to the track, in all cases I have used K&N or similar performance intake and filter that need to be oiled, I have yet to have one single issue with MAF sensors or check engine lights. Now I wont say its not possible because anything is I would just suggest when you oil it yourself dont go crazy with the oil that is usually where the problems happen.
