isnt there a flange right after the catalytic? why cant we just get a completely-bolt-on system, without having to cut the oe pipe? So when we have to smog our car, we can just swap the headers. I'm very interested with the headers, I just wished it's a staright bolt-on that doesn;t require any cutiing.

I know, for that price, it's very tempting, i may just find a flange and weld it to the klemman downpipe so its a real bolt-on system.

Thats what I did with my supersprint. 75 bucks to install flanges.
Save whatever you cut off, so you can flange it.

The nearest flange is at the inlet of the resonator. MB is famous for making their exh. systems have as few joints as possible. Be glad you don't have an SL600 or SL65- the ENTIRE exhaust system is one piece from the down pipe to the mufflers.

No welding required. Cut the OE down pipe, and the KLEEMANN down pipe clamps into place.
