M271 header special...again!
KLEEMANN USA would like to announce a special on M271 headers for MBWorld members only. From now, until the end of March, all MBWorld members who reside in North America can purchase the KLEEMANN header for the unbelievably low price of $649.00 plus shipping. The header includes a down pipe with high-flow catalyst, factory exhaust gasket, new manifold nuts, flange hardware, and clamp. Installation is right around 2 hours, and no welding is required- simply cut your factory down pipe, and the KLEEMANN pipe clamps onto your stock pipe. What a screamin' deal! I paid more for my SS header, without any built in Cat, and that was a buddy deal!
Cory, just curious, is this CARB approved? (not that it matters that much, like anyone around here worries about that. I passed, no idea if my header is approved or not. My emissions were low, as are yours likely to be)

You have to order directly through KLEEMANN USA to get this deal. If you'd like to send a money order, that's fine, but it has to clear the bank before I can ship. The trick is, will anyone (like police or Ins. co) notice it and make you put it stock?
So, you just need to not be tooo obvious or push things too far.
I passed smog, and in fact the guy stated, that my emissions were below normal.
I would bet that as the Kleeman header has a Cat just like the stock one, you would be fine as far as the
actual readings.
Your smog guy may, or may not ask if you have the header has a CARB cert.
He may not notice that it's not the stock part, he'll just check to make sure the 2nd cat is there.
And just to be sure, you could be creative...what do you see in picture below Grasshopper?

You missed the point. This stayed on just long enough...likely the aluminum clip that held it in place would melt under normal conditions. Like I said, my emissions were low.

Correct. You will almost certainly fail the visual inspection, which means you fail the entire emissions test.
