I freely admit I tried to cheap out with them also... however my car's performance suffered severely... perhaps I'm too sensitive to everything...
Purchase the correct OEM Bosch plugs (maybe wires too - you still haven't stated how many miles are racked up...) from www.autohausaz.com.
If you're doing this yourself, do it with the engine cold, and always start plugs
or bolts whatever by hand, and make sure the wire is re-seated properly on
the plug (it makes a very audible CLICK). Do you have the 17mm crowfoot wrench?
Let's see....you've changed the plug wire, and the coil for that cylinder, but not the plug yet? Change the plugs. Buy the OEM plugs, they're worth the extra money. If that still doesn't do it then I would suspect the injector on that cylinder if you still get the missfire. First check the wiring going to the injector.

Fit OEM Bosch plugs, coilpack & twin leads on that cylinder ONLY & see what happens. If the problem returns - Check injector - Mleskovar is spot on track.
Once the problem is solved you can replace the rest of the plugs etc. Don't pay that dealer. Don't go back to those robbers. Don't blame the car.
What year is the car and what mileage has it done? How well has it been maintained?

My car has had 2 caster bushes - not because they had failed but because I knew they had been improved & one 5 cent tranny plug washer due to a slight oil weep on the drain plug - otherwise perfect.
I know of one in Malaysia at 700,000 Kms & still no major repair and an E240 at out office that has done 563,000 Km as of yesterday & still going strong.

I found Smyth to be complete morons when it comes to almost ANYTHING.
I would get a call to pick up my car (~ 1 hour each way from the SC mountains)
only to arrive and find the job done shoddily, and new problems.
I would make the SA come out and sit in the car with me, and inspect stuff, well at least the 1st few times.
Then, after having them send me home without the car several times to fix either the same problem, or a new one they created,
I started making my SA act an inspector, that when the shop said 'it's ready', he'd check everything out, and often would then call back again and say 'don't come'.
Luckily for me it was all under warranty.
I can say, that they charge 2x-3x the MSRP on parts prices....no sheet.
I bought clear fog lenses online, for like 15, it said 20 msrp.
I ended up ordering one wrong pn, it wasn't clear.
Price to get the right one without waiting, $40 from Smyth.
I order most of my parts from dealerships in Florida and it's cheaper even with shipping than buying local.
You know, it's not even owned by anyone named Smyth, it's part of Autonation.
Funny, but I MET Mr. Smyth recently, nice guy. He was out from NY, and gets his hair cut the same place I do. They should take down his name.
Here's one such place.

Also parts.com but I'm afraid to recommend them since they are like a referal company not an actual dealership. It's wierd. I bought a large shipment from them recently, and it went ok mostly, but
wow, it's a shady contract you end up agreeing to.
I'm PM'ing you some info that might help in the future dealing with these nitwits.
You're really better of doing stuff yourself if can manage it. Likely you can do a better job than they can.
I know a good independent shop in Scotts Valley if you want to know the name, let me know.
If it WAS a wire, again you could switch it, and the problem would follow.
Does the 2.6 have 2 spark plugs per cylinder? (and 2 wires, and 2 coils?)
Swap both of each from another cylinder and see if the problem moves.
Also pull the #5 spark plug(s) and see if they actually changed the plug.
Maybe they didn't. It's been known to happen with these stealers to do crap like that.

..... I also thought, to get rid of this C180 and get another BMW (which in my opinion are the best ones) My BMW 520i is the best car I bought so far.
But then again, it's a way to learn more about cars, by just doing researches and try to do the job yourself. I've learned ALOT !!! I can replace the filters ,plugs, oils....And I'm only a musician.

It was funny, I replaced a leaky exhaust manifold gasket,
and while I was at it, lots of basic things, and threw in a new Supercharger and rebuilt the alternator while i was at it.
My neighbor saw me, and said 'wow, I didn't think you're supposed to work on those yourself'.
It's still just a car, held together with nuts and bolts, and servicing it isn't too bad.
It's just the repair facilities that make things a f'ing crisis when it's just a simple and relatively inexpensive repair and try to charge you 1 grand for plugs and wires.
Use the forum, be informed, do AT LEAST the easy stuff yourself, and pocket the savings!
I mean, changing plug wires isn't rocket science and doesn't require a $150 an hour mechanic.
Nor does changing your air filter(s), cabin filter, wiper blades etc.
