Seafoam on m271 engine
I was planning on seafoaming my car and so I was searching the forums for where the manifold vacuum line is on a m271 engine. I have not found the answer yet so I would appreciate ur guys' guidance on this. If you guys have a picture of it, that would be perfect!
But before that, wanted to find out what you guys even thinking about seafoaming the car. I was reading through the forum and one guy said that he would not use seafoam what so ever (seemed pretty adamant about it). So now i am doubitng myself whether i should be using the product or not. Everywhere else on the net however, the product has gotten good reveiws... what's ur guys' thoughts?
aprreciate your help!
I think its one of those things where the potential risk outweighs the benefits. i would just use fuel injector cleaner like techron or something instead.
its a PITA to remove the airbox to get the vacuum line. Next time ima just get the fuel injectors.
I put techron concentrate through the gas tank (2 bottles in 2 consecutive tanks about 2 months after I bought the car) and I noticed a good 1.5-2 mpg increase on the dash display for the same commute.

I highly recommend anyone with this M271 engine 2003-2007 c230 to use a can in gas tank at every oil change if possible or every 2 oil changes , around every
10k miles..
Cheers and every1 gl

Might also check on ebay motors. Once in a while some of their vendors have good package deals on multiple cans and some offer free shipping as well.
Got a four pack last winter for less than $17 a can and free shipping plus they threw in a can of C5 and MOA, other great BG products as freebies. Good deal
seems to me, if you don't have issues with compression (or compression is restored after its use) its not worth the risk to use it (or continue to use it).

can you list the steps of how you used the seafoam? was it 1/3 in the combustion chamber, 1/3 added to the oil, and 1/3 added to the fuel tank? details, please! the compression on ours is pretty much the same as yours before except the low cylinder is #4...
BE CAREFUL HANDLING THE AIR MASS SENSOR THE THING THAT GET PLUGGED IN AFTER THE AIRBOX ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE V-6 CLK320. I WOULD GO FOR ABOUT AN HOUR TRIP GET UP TO A HIGH OPERATING TEMP. AND BUY A SPRAY BOTTLE AT THE DOLLAR STORE.. FILL IT WITH WARM WATER, MAKE SURE IT COMES OUT LIKE A SORT OF MIST. THEN TAKE OFF THE MAF( MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR ) AND HAVE SOMEONE REV YOUR CAR AFTER THE TRIP AND ITS OVER 85 DEGREE OPERATING TEMP//.
REV TO 2-3 RMP FOR 8-10 SECONDS WHILE SPRAYING A LIGHT MIST INTO THE AIR DUCT PIPE.
THEN LET OFF AND QUIT SPRAYING.. AND RESUME FOR ANOTHER 8- 10 SECONDS... CONTINUE TO SPRAY A FEW TIMES, AND THIS WITH STEAM CLEAN YOUR COMBUSTION CHAMBER CYLINDERS.
I REPEAT CAREFUL WITH THE MAF SENSOR I BROKE MINE BY JUST PRESSING IT TO GO BACK IN ITS PLACE
.... HAD TO GET A USED ONE AT BONEYARD FOR $70 NOT COOL.... WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FREE DIY THAT CLEARS CARBON COST ME BIG BUCKS..... ITS STILL WORTH IT TO ME... I HAD A MIS FIRE ON CYLINDER 5... NOT SURE IF IT WORKED ALL THE WAY IM THINKING I MIGHT NEED A NEW COIL PACK.
I STRIPPED THE TORX BIT
SO I COULDNT SWITCH THEM AROUND TO SEE... I HAVE BG44K ON THE WAY SO IM GOING TO GET MY ENGINE SUPER HOT AND ADD IT AS WELL...
