2005+ (DVD-based) EURO COMAND thread (All You Want To Know)
I was wondering if 05 Euro Commands were available yet through someone like steve?
Also, can there be DVD viewing?
Can it play mp3?
Does it work with the mercedes phone?
Does it work with the 05 non-command factory installed changer?
how much?
When could it be available?
Thanks!

That post was definetly not appropriate. I did search, i was posting to find out if there was any new information. In one post steve mentioned that they were 3,000 Euro's and he had not purchased one yet.. Seeing if there was any new information..
No reason to act like an a$$hole... Just because this is my first mercedes, doesnt mean this is the first time i have used an internet forum..

Biznatch, i understand what your saying, but honestly, this has been discussed over and over. Just like C-Spot coupon, which wax should i use, what size bulbs do i have in my city lights (foglights), etc.
Also, can there be DVD viewing? i think you can, send steve an email and ask s_krabbenborg@hotmail.com
Can it play mp3? yes, in the front CD slot from what i remember reading.
Does it work with the mercedes phone? yes
Does it work with the 05 non-command factory installed changer? yes
how much? i think about $2600
When could it be available? i heard it may be awhile.
just email Steve and ask if this doesnt help.

3) the eurospec 211 comand does not want to erad the phonebook in a US spec MB phone...the rest works perfectly though...it might be that the 203 comand will have a similar 'thing'
4) yes

Head unit for euro C55 for US '05 C230?
Hey all after seeing Cntlaw's head unit off his C55 (hope you don't mind me using your pic! ), I ran a search for more info on it to see if other members on the forum has it for their US C55 but couldn't find any? I also couldn't find any info at all on what type of head unit it is, looks kinda like a 1/2 navi command unit? Anyone knows if this head unit is available in the US (model, specs, etc.)? I would like to get a hold of this if possible and if anyone (*cntlaw*)can provide more info on it.
Also notice his DIGITAL a/c!!! I'm jealous! because US versions have the knobs on the '05 models and those won't get released in US models til the 2005.5 models come out, I hope they are compatible for swap on my 05 c230 SS!!!
Thanks.

Euro COMAND navi an option for me?
Hi guys. I am new here and I have been browsing the site for a little now. I am interested in purchasing a brand new 2005 C230 SS. Anyways, the specific model I wanted is not available in the Western part of the US and the dealer would have to order this model from Germany and have them build it there to ship to me.
I know the Euro COMAND Navi is much more popular here according to you guys. Some of the differences is mainly the British accent from the voice, the TV Tuner capability, and a few other differences that has most of you guys opting for the Euro version.
Would is be possible to ask the salesman to have MB in Germany to install the Euro version instead of the US one? Or do all MB's sold in the US MUST be sold with US parts?
I sent an email to my salesman but he hasn't responded yet.
Also, when you wait 8-12 weeks for them to build your specific model, is it harder to negotiate a better price since the dealership isn't actually moving THEIR own models?
EDIT: forgot to ask, has anyone ever dealt with Auto Stiegler Mercedes Benz in Encino, CA? Specifically their fleet manager, Igor?

If the Euro version doesn't work in the US, why does so many people in the board get the Euro version when they buy it from a vendor (such as that guy Steve)

this was not a problem pre-2005 as the discs worked the same way.

Steve would sell a Euro Nav and he would have a solution. He always does.

And I know for a fact that not that many have been sold (in reference to your "so many people" comment).

I just remembered the navi for the 05's are different from the previous years. So I was probably referring to the older models. My mistake.

If you are still to get yourself a car - get it with factory installed (US spec) comand...if you already have a car which doesn't have comand yet, then Steve guy most probably is your best bet - regardless wether it is euro or us spec...

EURO COMAND and US NAV DVD incompatibility??
Recently I obtained a copy of the most recent nav dvd disc (v. 2005.1) from a forum member. However, my Euro comand (which I bought from Steve) does not recognize the dvd disc at all. Could it be that my unit is a Euro version while the nav dvd is for the US comand? I know it's not the copied disc that I got because it worked fine in his US comand. Can any of you out there that have the Euro comand pop in a US nav dvd to see if it works or not? Also, those that have the Euro comand, are you using the nav dvd disc that you got from Steve? and how many gigs is the dvd? Thanks in advance.

Guaging from the size of the DVD you told me your running, Steve; does the C class Euro version use the E/CL/CLS disk instead of the US ML/R/C disk? Do you have the phone number option in your nav unit?
