Won Climatronic on Ebay for $90
I finally won the correct climatronic on ebay...final price was $90 because some a$$ bid the last few mins to raise it from the opening $75. Anyway, this guy has great feedback and has a climatronic every week or so. If your looking for one, check out this guys auctions every few days, you might get lucky.

Awaiting a new arrival...
So is it semi-correct to say that the 09 unit works on 03 coupes and the 02 unit works on 02 coupes? I just want to order the right one without hassle. Mine is an 03/02 build 2002 C230K.

No...09s will work for 02 and 03 (unless you get a California Climate control)...the 02 model won't work with any coupe.
The 02 model is the current one the dealers sell.

yeah i have a 09 85, and a california climate control so im SOL. im getting ready to mail my 90 85 back to flordia for my refund but if someone is interested ill sell it for what i bought it for. its brand new only used for 5 minutes then taken out. let me know otherwise ill send it back for me refund. there are no scratches and ill post pics if someone wants. just wanna give the people in the forum a chance to get it since i hear the 203 830 09 85 climate controls are getting to become pretty rare.

Any more pics of your car since you picked it up? For how often I buy/sell cars, I couldn't buy the color, my dealer openly cautioned me against it. They knew if I came back to trade within a couple years I'd be hammered on the trade-in based on color. It is still my favorite though, hands down. Saw my first at Comdex 2001 and drove one a few weeks later, the day I placed an order.

2002 C230 K
Out of curiosity, has anyone installed the digital climatronic on a car ('02 or '03) in California?
I'm a little surprised that there would be a difference. If so there is something else different in the car that makes the part incompatible (since the part numbers are the same).

I bought one of those from the same guy on eBay. It looks great.
I noticed though that the system does not control the vents correctly. I could barely get any air out of the back seat vents the other day. And the temp sensors seem to be about 4-5 degrees off.
Oddly enough I got a call from Mercedes Benz North (Houston) (car just went in for Service A) they said that that AC unit cannot control the vents correctly because the vents on the C230K are different than the C320. The service tech said that it was putting errors in the system. I'm not sure what will come of it. The system seems to work bearably.
My control unit shipped quickly from mydub and everything went well eBay wise.

Im glad the seller seems to be reputable. As far as Im concerned I use (will use) the back seats once or twice a year, so thats not really an issue. I personally think the analog one does a horrible job of keeping the car a constant temp, so even if this one is off a few degrees as long as its constant im happy.
