Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I don't speak German.

I ended up getting these Depo's:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=130305787111

The seller and product were recommended by a user on benzworld. The price including shipping to Canada is also the lowest I've seen on e-bay.

Those projectors look nasty sorry to say that.. But from those pictures you can tell the light output is going to be very poor.
The ones you got say nothing about depo on there website?

Here are depos

Sorry for the noobish question but whats the difference between "Depo"?

What does depo mean?

Is it just a better brand?

Thanks

Just a better brand i guess there well known and have been around for a while.

Your taking advice from someone that thinks his are better then OEM?

( Well the lighting is actually better with these than stock. If you look on Ebay some sellers are trying to sell them for $350. The MB body guy that put them on said that they were pretty good quality lights, I think he would know considering that's all he deals with all day long. If your stuck on really high quality go spend a grand on OEM bi-xenons. )

But from real members here that bought depos will tell you the light quality output is poor.

For me yes i will buy depos with a 55watt HID kit.. Why? Because im not rich lol

Here is a thread you should check out if you haven't..

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...bout-depo.html

22 pages that tells everything about depos...

hope this helps a little.. Yes they will change the look of your car =P Makes it look more sexy*

I just got my projectors and installed them myself.

They are not Depo's, but Eagle Eyes. So far so good.

Here are the Eagle Eyes beam pattern pics. I think they look a lot better than the Depo's.

I've re-aimed the headlights. The passenger side was too high.

I'm very satisfied with these Eagle Eyes, both looks and functionality wise.

I mean no offense by this, but that pattern sucks. I mean, it looks fine close against the wall with a well defined cut-off.. but the beam is narrow and the way it looks on the road appears cheap. I have a HID kit and stock, clear reflector lenses and the pattern is way better than those projectors.

Sorry.

Edit: I'm going to take a photo of the wide, even pattern the stock 05-07 lenses are capable of so that anyone who reads this thread may think twice before buying Depo or Eagle Eye projectors. I'll post here.

Okay I attached the photo.

You cannot compare the light output of a HID kit with halogens.

Compared with my previous setup (frosties + halogens), I get a brighter illumination. It is not like the pictures of the horrible Depo patterns that I've seen with scattered light and hot spots.

I didn't even have to do any tricks like turning the bulbs 180 degrees.

For a wider illumination, I can always turn on my fog lights.

I didn't compare HID with Halogen. I compared HID with HID. I intended you no offense personally, if you are happy with the result then that's great. I simply stated the beam is too narrow and the narrow bowls of light on the roadway look cheap. I put up a picture of my car with 55w HIDs and stock facelift headlights - a much smoother, wider beam pattern but it does lack the sharp projector cut-off. I'm simply offering an alternative to members here who might be considering this mod. I have no experience with the frosted lenses, but the clear lens on the facelift cars is capable of a nice pattern even with HID kits. And the BMW 135i in my signature has factory, adaptive Bi-X, so I have a point of reference.

But you were comparing your HID with your stock lenses to my patterns created by halogens (non-HID) in projector housings???

Yes, your light output is superior, but as I said, you have a HID kit, and I don't.

I still believe my upgrade provides superior illumination to my previous foggies and the beam pattern pictures I've seen here of the Depo's.

Oh you have halogens?! Sorry man. I thought by your garage door pics that the light was from a HID kit - it's just a camera effect then. You're right, can't compare these two. I thought you had gone to Eagle Eye projectors AND a HID kit.

Oops. Carry on. BTW - My HID kit, 55w, was just $84 shipped.

beam pattern has nothing to to with light output. having HID or not does not affect beam pattern.

as with DEPO or Eagle Eye. the beam pattern will never be as good as the stock. as long as you like your upgrade all the power to you.

since this is not DEPO, but Eagle Eye. There's no need to merge, but if you can get the moderator to change the title to "Eagle Eye projectors" that would be for other people looking to compare.

I think the passanger side is supposed to be higher a little bit, plus your output looked better that way on ground.

You should get HID kit for your headlights and matching HID for your fogs. You need clear lens foglights too. Combining all of these will give you a really bright ouput
