W203 Multi-Function Display Fading Class Action Suit

Email about to be sent, '02 C32 with 81K miles here, been doing this since I got the car 1 1/2 years ago with a tick over 55K.
Sometimes happens while it's cold too, even, if the car has been running for a while. Drove down to StL with my G/F and I could hardly read anything on the MFD by the time we got there, even though the outside temps were 35-40f.
Didn't know that the original 01' w203 MFD didn't have the "Sunroof Open" screen. Guess I can say that when I bought my car in 07' that the previous owner already fixed it as I have all the newer alerts, etc.
HOWEVER, even my newer MFD is fading. I don't think it would matter, as long as we don't have an actual new part, it's just going to fade over time..
Ah, f--- it. Email sent.

I think the ultimate response is that BMW, in the end, did give not just new instrument clusters, but entire new climate control/radio/etc panels to those that contacted them prior to legal action.
That is the model I am attempting to replicate.
I am not doing this out of self interest, other than the sense that I was sold a systemically defective part in a car built by a company that purports superior engineering. I am working on this issue because I feel a strong debt to these forums and the many other contributors that have posted a wealth of information that has saved me money or improved my ownership experience in the past. From illuminated door sills to an '05 front end, to Bix, I've done many things I would not have been able to without this forum. I want to give back.
For those that don't think it's possible to hold a company accountable for something like what's happening with our clusters, I acknowledge your dissent. However, I ask you to refrain from posting in the thread.
Thanks.
I would also like to personally shake your hand for your commitment!
Thanks,
Dave

To the other sceptics on MBW, dont come complaining when we get our displays fixed...
I haven't had this problem on my 2003 C-Coupe.
However, my wife's 2004.5 C320 SS began having this problem 2 weeks ago, when the weather got really hot here in Stuttgart, Germany.
Just wonderful timing when her warranty expired at 50,000 miles.
I asked my local MB dealership here, and they said they know it happens and based on my wife's sedans experience at about 90 degrees F interior temperature. With the A/C on the fading gradually went away as the interior cabin temperature cooled down.
I will ask again next week, and see what Mercedes-Benz GERMANY does about this problem here in Stuttgart.
In the meantime, I'll send an e-mail too, in hopes that MBUSA will somehow come to the rescue despite our MB's living in Germany now.

hey brother,
put this email addy and stuff in your sig; as the thread get's longer, finding it's a bear! thanks for your efforts!
Apologies for the delay - I moved. Things are progressing as I research. I was wondering:
Does anyone have the part numbers for all W203 and W208 clusters? I know the coupes have a different one. Could someone point me toward somewhere that has a listing of p/ns? I STFF'd but came up short.
We've about 50 on the list who have emailed - great work, but let's get everyone.
