Seriously Close to Buying a 05 C230K (Need Help)
I'm new to MBworld and a first time MB buyer. I'm looking to buy an 05 C230K with the following specs:
CPO
34000 Miles
Black on Black Color / Manual 6spd.
Dealers asking price $19000.
Obviously, I would like to negotiate a better price with the dealer. However, not sure where to start. I was thinking maybe at $18K and possibly settle at $19K.
However, I have found very similar certified vehicles in California (06's and not 05's) (I live in Illinois) listed at $17800. I would actually like to test drive the car before buying and cant really travel all the way to cali.
Anyways, any opinions on what price I should try to settle on for the car. Also, is there a good way to leverage the price I can get in Cali against him.
Thanks.
looking to buy either one. It seems that a lot of people seem to prefer the 4 cylinder Komp over the V6. (Both in manual)
Any opinions or thoughts on what I should buy. Definetely buying one or the other.
Thanks.
I got a 2006 C350 (3.5L 268hp) with 21,250 miles for 19,994.
If your into speed look into this car instead (C32)

I think the M272 since is naturally aspirated (no supercharger) will be less headache. But I also believe you can mod the M271 more because of the supercharger correct?

The M271 is stressed out, but it is capable of lasting a long time with proper maintenance. Scottisha on here is at 180k on his 05 C230K with no engine issues ever. The 06-07s have newer powertrains and that's a win when buying a new car.

second, M271 is not that stressed out. the stock charger only pumps around 6-7psi which is a very low boost setup. it's not that hard to tune to the m271 for more power. people here just don't want to and not willing to spend time/money/effort to find the right tune and proper setup. drex did his studies...did gain considerable amount of power from his m271.
lastly, if anyone's looking to buy a W203 C-class right now. there's no question that they should look for a 2006 or 2007. anything older would be a waste of money for the value vs the potential problems it may return. unless they're considering C32 or C55.
