ebay seller alert: arbosha
Just to give everyone a warning.
After pricing out the control arms set from on RM European Auto Parts vs this guy arbosha on ebay. RM came out to be $282 vs arbosha's $260. Both with free shipping. I was under the impression that this was suppose to be a good purchase because of the good feedbacks, but that turned out wrong.
After contacting him via email through ebay asking him about the parts info (manufacturer, etc and he was very slow to respond), but after finally getting the answers I asked him to re-list the control arm sets (item # 270398107553) so I could make the purchase. I quickly made payment of $260 on wednesday night thinking he would ship out the item yesterday since he is very local (AND that's what he stated in one of the msg).
However to my surprise I received a email from the seller stating that he wants another $24 for tax because I'm in CA. Keep in mind this was never mentioned in any conversation after I have asked him if $260 is indeed the total for the control arms set.
Now he is basically threatening me to pay him the $24 he demands or he will not ship the items and cancel the order with really bad attitude in his email response after I told him I will not pay outside of what is listed on his listing which is a total of $260. At this point I received a second email from him with even worse attitude telling me I "need to pay him" because it is
and now he also tells me that I can't make payment via credit card as he only takes paypal AFTER I ask him if he has a company name and address so I can just make the full payment plus tax in person if he wants to charge the tax which all he needs to do is refund right now. He did send a name of the company and address, but I am unable to find any information on this company.

since he is using a "private seller" account and not of a ebay store account there is no way to prove if he has a company or else. At this point I do not care to buy from this guy, but I have reported to ebay regarding his seller account since when you have a "ebay store account" there is a monthly fee you need to pay and other fees just so you get better options in your listings and do not have to list them as auctions like this guy is doing. basically he's cheating ebay out of ebay's fee.
will wait till tomorrow before officially filing it as "item no received".

His listings now have a disclaimer about the sales tax.
The seller should have just eaten the sales tax and completed the sale. It just makes him look bad now.

Thats lame. It's part of the setup in ebay to charge tax automatically for particular states in the configuration.
He messed up.
You can check with the State board of equalization to see if he actually has a resale license. I do.
I have to charge tax on items I resell, but not on my own personal crap that I already paid the tax on.

the guy came through with a refund. all is good. ebay is requesting the email he sent me, so they can look into this btw. lol
I did receive a last email stating that those "angry" email I received from him was from his employee and he apologize for the rude comments stating that if I go ahead and pay the tax to him he will "throw in a brake wear sensor". with the same grammar that wrote those "angry" letters. case and point...he spelled "writing" as "WRIGHTING" in every msg he wrote.

I am currently having problems with this ebay seller.I was shipped a set of 4 control arms and one of them had a partially stripped bolt location groove. After communicating with the seller, they responded quickly the first 2 times agreeing to pay for return shipping in replacement for a new one and asked for for my paypal email which i sent.I didn't hear from them for 2 business days and i decided to open a dispute which of course i got a response within 15mins and they claimed i didn't send the paypal account email.I then reffered him to my email for 03/21/2011 and asked them to read all communication from start.
Obviously they can't read very well as their English and spelling is the most terrible i have ever seen.Case is still open.Beware of this seller regardless being top rated ebay seller.

Out Of Control!!
Frank will, of course, report the use tax on the parts that he ended up not being charged on the sale on his personal tax return for 2011.
