When I floor it REALLY hard...

something happens to the throttle... like if it gets bent or something?

whats that? I'm not sure, but its like if there is something under the throttle or the throttle it self.

any ideas?

It's throttle by wire so there's not direct link. Are you refering to that bump towards the end when it hits the switch to downshift the auto trans?

As Buell said there is a switch under the pedal. I have it on my 6 speed as well. I think it serves as both a kickdown for the auto as well as a WOT sensor for the computer. WOT is wide open trhottle by the way.

ummmmmmmm.... well, my car is automatic by the way...

and I think its that bump you mentioned, Buell.

so, what is it? is it just the plastic or rubber getting bent or that does have something to do with the acceleration?

I'll put it in simple terms even my 12 year old can understand. The throttle is just an electric switch similar to your control on Playstation/Nintendo/XBox. You press the pedal and it tells the computer to make the car go faster. The more you press the more the computer tries to make the car go faster. Just to make sure that it fully understands that you truly mashed the pedal to the floor there's a switch that gets pressed and that comfirms to the computer that you want to go as fast as that car can take you. This switch is what you feel when you press the pedal the last 1/4" or so. On cars with automatic transmissions it will try to downshift as low is it can go in an effort to accelerate as fast as possible. It also manages fuel/air delivery, timing and the supercharger bypass valve and other goodies to achieve this by going into a special preset set of settings that MB knows will give you top acceleration. Then chip tuners come in and come up with better settings to make the car go even faster.

I don't think he is talking about the switch. I've experienced the same thing once test driving a C230k coupe. It feels like there is something stuck under the gas pedal or something is wrong with it. Not sure.

Like you push it all the way down and then you push harder and it goes down another 1/4" after what feels like a snap? That's what I'm talking about.

It was similiar to that. It only occured once out of all the times I've driven the C-coupe and it was on a non-C7 package car I believe.
