Now my wife wants a cloth seat cover for the driver's seat. Are there any nice ones available?

I bought my wagon at the same time, only warranty work has been flooded fog lights and a siren with laryngitis. 13K miles, most trouble free German car I have owned.
I might suggest your wife consider sheepskins. They are warm in winter, cool in summer, and I know people who love them so much they even drag their dead sheep on airline flights.
Mercedes used to offer them in their "collection." You might call a dealer parts Bob, and ask what is available.

The 2004's do not have the face lifted interior, but they did have free oil changes. I could have purchased a similar car for 28,500 a year ago. I chose a 2005 because the price was the same, and I liked the interior better. I wound up at 27,500 because I did not get heated seats or a CD changer (they are so 80's.)
If I wanted that unit, I'd offer about 22,000 for it. That will allow 500 for transport and junk fees the dealers try to add at closing.
If you contact a sponsor, Mark Newton, at House of Imports, he might have a few wagons in stock, and they are very competitive.

We looked at another '05 wagon at a nearby dealer that had 12,000 miles but it was abused, with damage on front and rear bumpers to prove it.

If I negotiate over this car should I make the dealer fix the damage or negotiate the price down and have it done myself?
Would you want to have the whole door done for a scratch on the part above the side moulding?

I had my car done by a dealer because I had 11 grand worth of body work done that required taking out the front and rear drivetrain for a hard pull on a Cellette bench.
If I were in your situation, I'd moan for hours how bad that looks, and get freebee tossed in like free A and B service, or extended warranty, and just live with the scratch. (can't see it when your driving, can you?)
