A nice detail job. It's been raining (and even snowing once!) here in GA a lot lately. The car was dirtier than it had ever been. I went to the local hospital to see a friend's new baby and another friend asked "Where are you parked?" and I told him and he said "I saw the Benz but I thought it was too dirty to be your car." You know it's bad when friends notice it. Especially friends who aren't that observant.

So I drove it through an automatic wash that does a great job. I get out to inspect the car and notice it is literally covered with tar! They've been doing some rather pointless roadwork near my house and I hadn't realized that my car was being covered in tar (and it was too dirty to notice). So I've been working on getting that stuff off and it is not easy.

Hello . I am trying to select a windshield wiper for my 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport. How many inches should each wiper blade be? 20"? Thank you!

The 2005-2007 C-class uses AERO wipers that are 22" on both sides. Two identical blades.

Oh Glyn - I forgot - the C230 is getting an oil analysis for its 5th birthday.

The oil is Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro that met 229.5 standards.
No oil was added during the service life.
The service life was 12,900 miles.
The filter was Mann and paper.

I'll post the results in a new thread when I get them in the mail.

Oh good! I want to see how the paper filters are holding up. All paper filters are not equal & the Mann will be using pretty consistent media. Do you see much dust where you are?

Nope, not much dust where I am. I mailed the sample off to Blackstone tonight. They'll email me the results probably by week's end.

I'd like to see a sample from Utah or Arizona - Although Texas can have it's fair share of dust.

I really am expecting them to tell me the oil is fine. I'm going to be disheartened if they recommend an earlier change. I want to follow the computer. The OCD side of me will be infuriated at feeling like I have to perform service when the system is saying I have thousands of miles left.

You might well be fine if the car is operated in mild conditions. Benz have to engineer for worst case scenario for obvious reasons. Silica is the killer

While I don't deny having a toy, I will tell that said toy was imported many years ago in the very early 1990s and today enjoys employment and very own personal E46. Oh yeah and that toy isn't made out of plastic, either.
