God no DO NOT disconnect the battery (See the sticky at the top of the forum).

Put your old lights back in, to start with.

Welcome to the forums. Some one will say STFF, which means Search The Friendly Forum. There may be stickies, or, a good search will show you available options. May cost close to twice those cheap ones, unfortunately. Bi-Xenons will run ~1500...
Lots to read, look in the FAQs!

The depo headlights aren't that great. Its been discussed in detail. If you want to read about it do a search.

Your best bet is to cut your losses, put the oem lights back in and save for a set of OEM bix. Or try to return those and get the depo headlights that look like OEM.

That pretty much sums it up. Now is it worth having the lights polished, is the question (probably asked and answered in the threads that C240owner is referencing)

Try out some Eagle Eyes. They are what I just got. I think the light output and pattern are better than the Depo's, and they are fully plug and play.

As for which ones are waterproof, it's a crap shoot, even within the same brand.

Someone else who got Eagle Eyes didn't have any leaking.

I, however, did, and had to un-install in order to apply silicone sealant.

As a safeguard, do yourself a favour and seal the seams between the lenses and bodies prior to initial installation. It's only around $5.00 for a tube of clear silicone sealant.

1. do you have the OEM XENON to begin with? IF you do. The only thing you should/can replace them with are the Bi-Xenon. Everything else are just wasting money.

2. auto-leveling is BUILT into the headlight unit. NONE of the aftermarket headlight has them. The ONLY auto-leveling headlight other than the OEM Xenon IS the Bi-Xenon.

3. If you DON'T already have OEM Xenon. Then it doesn't matter what brand/look of the aftermarket headlight you bought they are all 99.9% plug and play. meaning if something doesn't work properly you've probably done something wrong with the wiring.

4. If you see smoke it's most likely water went in and a bulb burnt out. OR a simple short of the ****ty design of the aftermarket lights.

and finally...search the forum please. Aftermarket headlights has been covered to death.

STFF actually means "search the forum first"...but I'd like to think of it as "search the f-ing forum"
