2006 C230, 2006 BMW M3, bye bye C55:(
on the subject of it being illegal in Florida, I dunno where you got your information from but it is completely legal AS LONG AS the light shines through and visibility is not broken. If it is, then you get a fine and you have to replace them.

i dont want to use the spray though i know that, i was thinking about finding a pre-cut layover kit, but had trouble.. someone said they bought theirs off ebay? whatd you search as because i couldn't find them =(.
i was also just thinking about taking the 35% tint roll i have and cutting them out myself, would that work?

Tried that, doesn't work, you gotta buy Vinyl tint film to make it work. Also you need a heat gun. I'll be working on tinting the tails this weekend with the vinyl i'll let you guys know how that goes.

Here it is, took me 4 hours....-_- it was really tough with those curves on the tails....as we thought it would be. I used vinyl smoke tint, and made my own tint solution with a hair dryer. I also did the mirror blinkers too, the car is coming along just fine, next up, coilovers and brabus lip kit...finally!

Here is the shot with some light going into the tails.

Here's the shot without light.

Here's the shot with the trunk

Let me know what you guys think!

Also, i'm kinda curious how long it would last because i could not get the upper part of the tail light covered....it took way too many tries, and i pretty much ran down to my last inches of vinyl film. If any of you have an idea of what i should do on that exposed lining, please let me know heh other than that, i thought it looked great without tinting the whole thing but the red.

Nope, i didn't take them out, it's actually easier to apply it with it attached because it gives u more force to push out the bubbles. Those damn bubbles, very persistent! After the vinyl is on, you just push the extra vinyl into the sides of the housing and it pretty much wraps in that way.

Just a quick question about the process of applying the vht nightshade.

I am wondering if it is best to lightly sand the light first and then spray the first coat, or to spray a coat and then sand the light.

Also what is the best sand paper to use 600?

Thanks for the help

That seems to be a good price! I got my tails sprayed yesterday, $50
The grille is plastic with a layer of chrome on it. i snded mine down, several coats of primer and instead of using the flat or gloss paint, there is a new rubberized paint on the market. this way it will not chip when rocks/sand/etc hit it

I wouldnt got with the spray on because the light flow cant go throw as well as in can go throw the film and the film has a glossy look to it so it looks alot better than the flat balck spray look. btw there are reflectors in ur tail light so when u use the spray on u cnt see the reflectors in ur tail lightss. here in houston they giive tickets if u cant see the reflectors idk how it is in ur state. also tint is alot easier to come off and the lights will look the same when u take them off!

When i gave a choice to the pro-shop to get this done, they ordered the vynil kit, but when they got it (the ebay one) they said it would not hol din time and will peel off. So they recommended to spray. I bet it really comes down what do you want in the end.
