I'm also planning on smoking out the taillights on my C-coupe (there's just too much red), so I actually went in and removed it as a "test" run. There's 4 mounting points on the taillights. Remove the light assembly from the taillight and move it out of the way. If you fish around you should be able to feel the tips of 4 bolts around the area. You'll need a short wrench or a "worm" driver, to reach all the way around the back of the light. After you get those 4 off (be careful not to lose the nuts), the taillights can be pulled straight towards the rear. Good luck!

okay, it's all done. I found the four nuts. It's really easy to remove the assembly. Sprayed lots of thin coats, to prevent any runs. Since the stuff dries to a matte finish i bought some clear coat, to help restore the gloss finish.
It's dark now so i'll get the night photo's up soon. and then the day time ones tomorrow.

hey vince that looks great, i like how everything blends in. You did a great job. I cant help but to wonder how it would look on a white car, maybe too much of a contrast?

i used some japanese stuff specifically for smoking your tail lights. the whole can was in japanese. good news is that the guy at the shop said that he's had it on his car for three years, and it hasn't worn off or anything.
just as an added precaution i put on some clear coat. I can wash my car just as i did before.
