I like just the white part painted
I think it looks simple but if I were to do it again it would be darker in the white part then a couple of shades for the red.... hey then all I need is your wheels and your kit then we will be brothers

Questions:
1) If you tint the red part and some guy hits you from behind at night would you be partially at fault since you've darkened your lights so it's harder to see?
2) If you tint the white part and while backing up someone hits you would you be partially at fault since you've darkened your lights so it's harder to see?

funny that you say that oggle... notice the scratch in that picture? I was careless and playing with my screen when in reverse and another car kissed mine now time for a rear bumper. It really isn't that dark when you spray the tail lights think of it like a film tint over the lights.... With tint you can still see in a car (if legal) and you can still see out, similar concept, IMO.

There's a spray just for this called Night Shades... remove your tail lamps... give it a few light coats then go down to your local body shop and ask them to throw it in the bake for a few hours. Your tail light will be nicely smoked and glossy.
Don't go too dark!

i dont think you should do it yourself... cuz it you mess up, its over. anyways it doesnt cost too much to get them smoked so id rather pay someone to do it.

Good Looking
I know a dealer doing the job located about 5 miles from my store, but too bad, we are in LA. How about take out your tail light and ship to them if you cannot locate anyone who is capable to do the job in Connecticut. Just don't do yourself, it's a MB. Let me know if you are interested (ah... shipping could be a problem, and how you can drive w/o the tail light, you might get a ticket).

Any way...
I agree with you and don’t think that its fully tainted dark black.. its just around 15% shaded on the tail so the brake light is clear or if not I will never go for it

it seems this light tinting thing is more popular outside of the USA.
just an observation.
