spray it on the outside can't open the taillight housing, if u want to heat them up then go ahead, just use some masking tape for the white part, cheap one will do. The paint is pretty durable, u still can get rid of them though.

c230k 3m smokey tail lights
Hey I was wondering how difficult is it to put one of those 3m smokey clear things on the tail lights of a c230k. I haven't seen any precut kits for it and I was wondering if anyone has tried to do this to their car yet. pics are always a plus

Smoked third brake light
I noticed a SLK 55 at my local dealer with a smoked thrid brake light.
Wondering if anyone has done this to their W203 or knows of a way to do it thats not going to make it too dark?
Thanks

Where can I get my tail lights smoked?
Hey guys, anybody know of a shop in the L.A. or surrounding area that smoke tail lights? I know of the paint cans and film but dont want to mess up my car I would rather let a professional do it. If so how much?????

Out Of Control!!
www.smokedlamps.com is in SoCal. I shipped them mine from NJ, and the service was great. Been tinted for years now with no issues. I was able to tell them which parts I wanted done; they didn't just do the whole thing. I'd recommend them.

Almost forgot: I forget the price; I'm getting old.

I prefer the smoked plactic film, you can choose between 2 different levels of darkness & they're removable, you can try Sticker City in Van Nuys, thats where I got mine from (darkest), I bought it from them & did it myself, it's kind of tricky but turned out alright, or you can have them do it, I blacked out my tailights, 3rd brake light, rear view mirror blinkers & front side markers, additionally I put the yellow film on my headlights & foglights.

If your replying to my answer, it was kind of tricky to get on with out any air bubbles, I just bought the sheet of film from them, then applied it left to right with a plastic tool they gave me, you have to go slow & keep pulling it off and re-sticking it to get it right, I then used a razor blade to trim it, using a heat gun helps because it makes the stuff softer & more usable, it also helps remove air bubbles, it turned out alright, it looks good when looking at it but if you look really closely you can see my not so pretty razor blade hash marks, cuts & re-cuts, it's also helpfull to have a friend assist you, he can pull it on while you adjust it & keep it straight, & ya it sticks pretty good, it's possible to remove it but personnally I would'nt welcome the idea.
