02' C320 Lock/Unlocking Chirp

I've been searching the forums
(https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...k-sound-2.html) and have yet to really find any helpful information as to how to get the chirp sound when you lock the car or unlock it. I have an 02' C320 and i've just assume that it didn't do it for some reason (guessing because it was an older model). My E350 makes the noise and all the rental C230s that i get make them as well. It's a nice feature and was wondering if any one could point my in the direction to get this taken care of.

Thanks

You do lose the "Panic" feature when you set it to Netherlands, btw.

I think that there's another setting that you can do that will retain it, but I can't remember. I've got the NL setting on my car, and don't miss the panic. Besides, it's one less thing to break down.

I had my local dealership code mine, and I didn't lose the panic feature. My beeping is the quicker beep, versus the older/slower beep. When they were done, they advised me that they set it to the Netherlands setting. Somewhere here, there's step-by-step instructions with pics of the SDS screens. So I printed those out and gave them to the tech, because previously, they said it was "not available" in my car.

BTW...my car is an 05 C230K with a 04/2005 build date in Bremen.

Hey Tommy

You have a C COupe? and your saying that you lost the panic feature right? I never use it anyways so i don't mind. How does it sound? when it lock/unlocks

Yes, I do. It's not as subtle as the post-facelift versions, which is a soft, short set of three beeps. On my car, it's a bit louder, and not as pleasant. Which I get to hear quite often, as I've got the mods4cars module installed - this allows me to open the sunroof and windows using the keyfob and the RF sensor in the door. (search for it; I've got a write-up - it's a great thing to buy)

So, it's a bit loud, but I still prefer it to just the visual confirmation.

2007 standard with the beeps.

2005-2006 can enable Netherland without losing panic function.

2001-2004 needs to have a master code while in the SDS otherwise Netherland setting loses the panic function.

Not sure what this all means. Can anyone give me step by step instructions or provide me with a link?
