Engine Problem?

Hey guys, im a new user to this forum so not to sure if this is the right place to post this!

Anyway I just got my C180K (2006 model) last week from a private seller. I took it to the local MB dealer to get it serviced and as soon as they started the car the mechanic said I have a engine problem, which they are not to sure about. They said they'd be calling me later on today regarding it but I'm just so frustrated thinking what the problem could be.

I noticed that the car didn't run as smooth as it should, and also that not enough power was being put out, when the accelerator was down. When i start the car it sounded very loud, and when driving it, it sounded like it was a diesel operated vehicle.

I bought the car with 42,000KMs on it, and i think the problem is with the compressor?

Whats your guys thoughts on the problem, and how much would it cost to fix?

I have no idea. Also the engine temperature on the car is kind of high, just above half way. Is that normal?

I just hope its not a blown compressor or anything.. Or maybe its a gearbox problem? Last night I put the pedal down and let it go and the revs stayed high for a second like when ur reeving it on neutral. So could it be something wrong with the gearbox?

do you have a erratic idle? it could be your accelerator position sensor on the accelerator assembly. It causes my car to idle really high when i first turn on the car and then idle errantically. Its ok when i put it in D but then i'm not getting any gas when i push down on the accelerator.

Revving between shifts sounds like transmission slippage.

My car has always been running a lil above 100 degrees celsius and as high as 110 but the ambient temp is barely over 95 degress F. This of course is driving for more than 45 minutes in the city. This should be okay right?

Its pretty funny, everytime the coolant gauge hits around 100 C, my engine sounds like a diesel engine, my MFD is completely gone, my front end starts knocking, power lost is extremely noticeable, my brakes start fading like crazy, all at the same time. WOW,

seriously though, im not joking.

Seems like when the car warms up, so does all the problems. lol
Ive heard most, if not all AMG's hit the ~100 celsius area pretty easily and go as far as 120 degrees celsius on the track.

have the MAF and thermostat checked. the temp should never be that high on the regular M112.

brake fade just means you should get the pads checked. maybe you've glazed it once you didn't know.

as for the front end knock. probably time to replace the control arms bushing or ball joint/entire arm.

My car is currently in my friends garage for my recent "trunk latch wont release" problem.
I changed out the MAF about 9k miles ago, after it was shot. That didnt seem to get rid of the noisy engine nor the loss in power, but it does idle a bit better (its still noticalbe though) so im guessing plugs next?
I was wondering if it was running a lil too hot, but wasnt sure if it was normal or not, so thermostat i gotta check.

I replace the font sway bar bushings/bearings and lubricated endlinks and bearings, that solved 50% of the noise (it was squeeking and making a rubbing sound, but now thats gone) but now when it gets hot, it sounds like something is lose (knocking), i thought ball joint was for the 'rubbing' sound?

And yea, i recently took my car out for sprinted driving and cooked the brakes, thats probaly why im getting severe fading.

if you have idle issue. run resistance test on all the wires. should read somewhere around 2-2.8 as I'm told. anything higher than that...toss'em and yes, replace the plugs if you've never done it.

bad ball joint and bushing on the control arm can make knocking noise. as well as loose shock mount.

driving in 115, ive seen as high as 214 degrees F. Granted that is in my s/c car with a large pulley on it going at highway speeds for 25 minutes with the blower engaged.

holycaoAMG, when its hotter outside, it makes sense the car is slower. timing is being pulled b/c of the conditions....all the other stuff you said, doesnt sound so great. frank seems to have provided good suggestions

My car warms up and the temp needle sits just about the 80C hash - it never moves. It was idling earlier, A/C at full blast, ambient temp indicator reading 106F - temp needle never moved.
