Interesting thing about those 2-button Canadian remotes with just the lock & unlock button,... take the circuit out of the plastic casing and you'll notice it actually have 4 buttons,... lock, unlock, trunk and panic!
Switch out the plastic casing from 2-button to 4-button and the trunk button will work,... panic function will require the MB alarm system. If someone with an original 2-button Canadian remote (lock & unlock) that switch out the plastic casing to the 4-button remote (lock, unlock, trunk & panic),... would the panic button work on your remote start system,... if the car doesn't have the MB alarm system?

Just the other day a guy with a rice rocket started his car a few feet away from me while I walked by it to my car, the exhaust took a wheezy fart, and the lights turned bright red like he was backing up, so I looked at it, but realized it was auto-start...
It was such a dick move, until I started mine.... but that was after I walked over, got inside the car and turned the key
. He was still walking 10 cars away from his car. Would like to see this in action:
Using the Panic Button
And the price! Must find out to save up!
Where would I go to get this set up in San Francisco, CA?
Must have for those days when I'm getting dressed and want my car started and engine warmed up a few minutes, so then I can just get in and go. (and also sometimes for those douschebag moves when I'm like a whole parking lot away, and people are walking close to my car)

What?
Which remote starter are you talking about?
The topic smartkey starter, unless I missed a new post, said that they're still testing the manual version <_<
$1000 is a lot; good thing there's a promo

The better the promo, the better the incentive
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I suppose it says still testing, but at least its not ruled out at this point.
Auto-start is just awesome everytime I see someone do it. Now I can be that guy!

Do I smell Promo-Group-Buy?!
Which should mean.. x2 the discount?!
patiently awaiting promo price...

With ours we have been testing, testing, testing... if you go to your youtube channel you can see video after video of us installing and testing our starters on every year of every model that we can get our hands on. We have *the* most extensive testing procedures for any aftermarket manufacturer.

or here with the new remotes:

they all work essentially the same... its just a short press of the panic button to start or hold the panic button to set off the alarm.
also note that the smartkey starter also comes with an expansion connector for an aftermarket 1 or 2-way remote control and antenna so you can start, lock, unlock, and pop trunk from up to 2500 ft away.

So what I could tell:
It takes:
Lock, Unlock, Lock, Panic to start the car.
And there's about a 2 second delay before the car starts?
Is that for safety reasons so people don't have their car start for no reason when their keys are in their pockets, and the panic button is pressed?
Is there a video of a C-Class Sedan with this yet?
I could volunteer for testing if need be

For more of the discount, yesssss

i would be more interested in this product if it could do this because the IR sensor in the door handles aren't very strong, don't work from far away, and you have to hold down the button forever.
if it could be a one-touch or double click or something to get all the windows/sunroof open that would be pretty neat.
(thanks for being so responsive)

no, you only have to press 'panic' for 1 second to activate the starter. when we made the videos we just showed that the other buttons still worked on the remote (for the longest time nobody believed that a remote start could be done in any practical way so the whole idea was to show in the video that all the other operation of the vehicle is normal.) if you look at the videos of the starter operating on other models you can get a better idea of this; we literally show everything being checked and tested before, during and after the starter is run.
We didnt make a sedan video yet but we will have one up soon.

the same button combo could be set to do that on other models as well. Ill do some research into adding it.
