we're just trying to put some reality into the interest for a lower price. their promotion price is $600.... and none of us want to pay that much. but apparently a lot of us want it for $300.

i'm just waiting for the seller to chime in to see if negotiation is possible given the interest for a lower price, and the lack of interest for what they currently have it listed as.

How about you wake up at 4:30am during winter time and come all the way to my house walking, call me up, i'll throw my keys down the window , at -10/15 degrees, warm my car up and walk back home? Or, you can keep your dumb comments to yourself?

ya but at the same time if brabus or any company released a product i doubt people would be low balling them for a better price...to me i think the price is high but then again i'm sure it's not cheap to design and get it to work with a benz and all the little what not's which is why the price is a bit high....i would pay 300 for this mod for sure but 600-1000 is pushing it...i haven't seen them chime back in but maybe this will make them change there minds about pricing...

I don't think the guy telling us to start the car like a man has ever experienced a good snow storm. Sometimes opening the door alone is a project when it's covered in 6" of snow and iced shut.

i agree... but the timing of this product doesn't help them because the current value of most of the w203's who will purchase this product isn't that much. if our cars were still worth at least $30k, then i can see it as more reasonable. even brabus doesn't even manufacture some/most of their products for our model cars anymore (called inquiring brabus recently actually)

Rob showed to be online sometime yesterday on this site, but no post in this thread. I think this is one of those products though that you can't expect to sell for a huge profit, at least not on the C-Class which is now a fairly low priced vehicle. For the C-Class, the price does need to be cheap and they should expect to sell a bunch of them with good advertising off this site. With the original price, I would doubt they'd sell very many. That price may work out fine with the S Class and maybe even the E Class, but just not on the C-Class.

nah, its not that bad ... We have been super busy with starter orders in general because its getting a little bit cold in the northern parts of the world so I apologize for not posting back earlier.

I hear what everyone is saying about the price and I passed that info back to the bosses to see what they can do.. The big issue right now has to do with the pricing of starters for similar vehicle platforms: for C class owners the closest similar vehicle would be a bmw 3 series (318/323/325, etc) which sell new and used at prices that are right in line with the W203 C. For the 3 series, there is a company that builds a similar product that is quite popular on the bmw forums called 'stellar' http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/stell...systems&r=5026 which is also a plug and play remote starter system that sells for $999 and apparently it sells pretty well from what various bmw owners have indicated. On top of that is the fact that the Smartkey that all new mercedes use is completely different from anything in use by any other auto manufacturer and thats the reason why the literally 200 different brands of remote starters out there will *not* work with mercedes. If mercedes had used a standard key system you would have your choice of $299 systems without question. Making a remote start system work with the mercedes smartkey requires that we custom build a special chipset and considerable expense.

At any rate I hear what you guys are saying and Im passing it all on to see what we can do. Ill keep everyone posted as I get more information...

What are the full features of your product other than being able to remotely start? (remote windows, remote raising top, etc..)

it seems like theirs is fully featured for $999

The $599 piece is just the remote starter but we do have other pieces like the SL starter which is $999 that offers extra features like the auto top open and close and window open close... We could certainly build a piece for the C class that is feature for feature compatible with the bmw piece and still be at the $999 price but its kind of a moot point if there isnt enough intrest at $599. I think when we checked market price for just a regular remote starter (e.g. cut wires and solder) on a 2000-2007 3 series the lowest price was around $499.

This was a pretty funny thread. MB owners thinking a vendor will drop their price in 1/2 because 15-20 people will buy at the lower price! Hilarious! LMFAO!! Maybe we should start a new thread:
