My HID Install

No complaints. I've driven in front of my own car at night and it's not any worse than other reflector HID-equipped cars. My beam pattern is perfectly stock and I didn't adjust them up or down.

See my post on the other forum : http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w203...-6000k-11.html
I installed them right under the lights, nice, clean and out of the way. The only problem you might experience ($$$$) with your drivers side balast is it might fry the electrical components around it. There was a post on benzworld where the kid mounted the balast close to where you have it and it fried ESP control module( i think thats what he fried). Anyways, cost him major mulla to replace that. Just passing this along

Meaning between the headlight and the reservoir? The thats sufficicent, i just wouldnt mount it anywhere behind the headlight in that area, since anywhere you mount it is waaay too close to the ESP module

How come the kit is so cheap? when like an mtec kit is 300 plus? Also is this just a halogen replacement, I ask because I am interested in adding this to my coupe if it is really so cheap and easy to install. I bought some aftermarket H7 bulbs but they just don't do the trick for me.

the Kits come in whatever bulb you need...but its plug and play, so eah direct bulb fitment...
The technology has been around for years, to tell you the truth, its just now making its "debut"...so not sure why MTEC's are so expensive

first you dont need to ask a question twice. most members on here will respond to you eventuality and if they don't then you made them mad. i am in a good mood today so i will help you out i had a good
it really doesn't matter on the passenger side but drivers side put it as far away from the abs modular as you can. i wedged mine in between the headlight and the windshield washer fluid filler neck. fit perfect and only needed one zip tie to keep it nice and snug. personally i cant stand the look of having the ballasts any where besides the bottom of the headlight. that is why i got the bix off ebay really cheap!

C230 COUPE 2003 M271
i would advise against the 55w...i just installed mine a couple days ago
REALLLY REALLY bright....nothing wrong with that....but the fact that our cars have halogen beams is not good. mine has a decent cutoff for the beam...but halogen is halogen so there WILL BE UNAVOIDABLE GLARE. probably 35w be the better choice...but running the risk of flickering

After drilling the hole in the cap, how did you fit the bulb through, do you somehow disconnect it from the harness? I don't want to pull it off and break it.

so i had mine in for a whole whopping hour before i took mine out. don't get me wrong i loved the way they look and the way they illuminate the road, but without a proper projector housing, the spread is all over the place, and there is no cut off whatsoever. i was literally blinding everyone and myself when stopping behind someone at a stoplight.
i would advise buying bi-xenon headlights if you were to do hids at all. i just think that without the proper projector housing, the hids are way too distracting to other on the road.
and since i'm one of the few who like how the regular reflector headlights look better than the bi-xenons, i am going to stick with halogens for now.
ps. i love the way the 2004 e class xenon projectors look, i'd totally be content with a retrofit in the normal housing, but too much work at the moment.
