I have the stock Audio 20 HU without a separate amp stock. We pulled the HU and wired sound from the rear speaker wires coming directly out of the HU. I believe (for me) that the wires are pink and white for both the back speakers, but I can't remember which is which. The black wire coming out of the HU we used for switched power (even though I've been told that there is no switched power coming from the HU, but it has and is still working). Ran all the wiring through the door sills on the right side of the car. This is just for subs.

Of the subs yes, of the install no. Out of curiosity, what year is your car? You might want to update that in your information... it makes it easier to help you out.
If you look at the DIY sticky at the top of the forum, you can find the center console removal instructions, and then if you look at the DIY for the Aux input, you can see how to remove the door sills. We also had to remove the plastic cover from the underside of the glove box. Just 2 torx 20 screws.

Maybe I'm getting old but the Audio 20 in my C230 seems more than adequate in all areas, even bass. It's on par with the 10-speaker unit in the 135i, easily.
Neither come close to the Bose Studio-on-Wheels system that was in the G37 coupe.

ya thats the only real plus to the g37 is the bose stereo! oh and the squealing tires i pull in 1 and 2 gears! but ya I added subs...I didn't buy a 4cylinder for power I mean its not a WRX here...but Ya i'd love to get rid of the box and see if I can incorporate the 2 subs to the rear deck where 2 openings for speakers are...just haven't had time to get in there and measure the openings and ensure the the openng is deep enough for my 2 JL's

You put subs in your car? Punk. That's extra weight the car doesn't need.

I believe it was a black wire. We figured out the wiring by testing each wire with a meter. Took a while, but it was better than pulling the radio and cutting the power.
