C230 has a new playmate
I've been planning to add an SUV for years. It will certainly come in handy for things the BMW and Benz absolutely cannot do. It's an 04 SE model with the Bose package and 4WD. It's got the same mileage (60,700) as the C230, give or take maybe 20 or 30. It's hard to tell which has aged better, as they're both in perfect condition. To be riding on a dated truck platform, the ride is smooth and quiet and it's very refined. I really like it.
Anyway, a friend drove the Benz back and we had three stop light races from 0-60. Two were level ground, one uphill. Victory:
Level Ground 1: Dead even.
Uphill: Pathfinder by a signifcant margin.
Level Ground 2: Benz slowly pulled away with increasing speed.
So there you go. Pointless knowledge for C230 owners that just confirms it is, in fact, slow.

LOL No mods. 240hp and 265tq from the VG35DE engine. I like the truck a lot. Wasn't really shocked that it could keep up with the Benz.
It uses 2 gallons of gas for every 1 gallon the C230 uses, though.

Now you'll fit in!!! Your mountain friends won't mess with that car.

Actually, the Pathfinder was built in Japan and my "mountain friends" don't view anything not from Detroit as a "real truck". However, I've played with the Pathfinder today and it's rugged when needed and refined when needed. And it was a screaming deal.

Is that the last year for that body style Pathfinder? My supervisor at work has an 05 and his looks different, like the updated style, plus he has the 4.0 liter engine in his. Either way, if it is, that's probably a good thing for you as he seems to have issues with his SUV every once in a while, not bad, but still troublesome for someone not familiar with cars. I must say though, for getting another vehicle in the family, I think you made the right choice with that (or if you would have went with a truck). I too have an SUV as well and it's always nice to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle that has a roof rack and can fit plenty of cargo. I doubt you get much snow in GA if any, so, any plans to take it muddin'?

I can't imagine "muddin'". If you knew me, you'd understand. I'm from GA, but I'm not into southern/rural traditions. I'm at home in midtown Atlanta more than I am where I actually live. I'm sort of the anti-redneck.
The Pathfinder can do things the 135i and C230 just can't do in terms of hauling stuff. Plus it's a very nice ride and drive.

Fair enough! Didn't know if you did plan on doing any of that, but figured I would ask. My younger sister had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and curiosity got the best of her in the case of "What could my Jeep do?" So I took her to these off-road/muddin' trails by my one buddies house to "trail-test" her Jeep. Needless to say, she had a blast, but again, this isn't something she had planned on doing nor something she had the Jeep for. Either way, have fun with it.
