hiya
i have did a search but it didnt answer my question
i have fitted 2 amps to the stock stereo. (facelift) one amp for the speakers and one for the sub. and connected these via converting the speaker wires at the back of the stereo to RCA outputs.
now it has been ok for the last 2 and a half years but now when i turn it up the speakers cut out and all i hear is the sub but when i turn the gain level down (adjuster in the car) the speakers come back on. turn the sub off and the speakers are fine when i turn it up.
its doing my head in, please help. what can it be?

hmmm... i use to have a system in my car also... and i had a alpine amp running the stock bose speakers and a amp running a 12" sub... if you don't replace the stock stereo the subs will cut out and come back.... it's weird i dk how to explain it but the way to cure it, is to replace the stock headunit with a aftermarket one...
there are some threads on this from back in the day... if you have a cheap aftermarket one laying around try it... just put it in for a few days and i guarantee the sub will not shut off and kick in and so forth...

i use to have a in dash Alpine touch screen worked well but than the volume button broke so i didn't bother fixing it and sold it on ebay... i am now using a Kenwood dk the model number but its a Radio/CD/MP3/USB. It's pretty cool and it was cheap from Bestbuy. The USB drive is awesome!!! Doesn't look as cool as the TV but o well
