No Updates yet. Have been super busy to take it in for a Leakdown test. Will take it in for sure.
All I need it to do now is misfire then for sure it'll be a lawnmower loool
(my sunroof slider is loose now) I was driving "free spirited" and out of no where I see it moved back (not all the way) Now I can slide it back and forth soo easily. They greased the rails and I have a feeling they did something to it by accident.

Hi i too had this high oil consumption.
My service guy suggest to use Semi-synthetic oil.
i lost lesser oil over the period.
Now i add engine treatment instead of topping up with oil.
seem to work, i m monitoring the lost over the next 2 week.

Yes - bad idea. Most so called "engine treatments" from Wynns, Forte & a host of other mouse milk peddlers is 99% VI improver. All it does is take your oil out of spec & make it thicker - much thicker. This will reduce oil consumption but accelerate wear at cold start.
If it made any sense the oil companies would do it & Benz would recommend & approve it. They don't.

So far so good. Last time I took it to the dealer I noticed there was an oil leak again by the rear cam plugs. The previous dealer had already changed them due to a leak. This new dealer that I took it to told me that factory the silicon wasn't good and a little was poking out leaving a very small hole. They applied new silicon and knock on wood so far no oil message and oil level seems fine.
The leak was pretty decent. I would wipe all the oil off and drive pretty hard for a day and when I came back the rear cam plugs were soaked wet.
Everything is good now.

Good news indeed - I'm staggered that there was not more oil under the car.

Good to hear. Must have been leaking like a sieve.
Now that it’s been given a clean bill of health, have you contemplated turbocharging it?!

If I recall correctly when they did the oil consumption test I was "consuming" .4 liter for every 250 miles.
MB accepts .8 liter for every 1000 kilometers. That's roughly .8 quart for 621 miles.
I was ready to do the leakdown test as Glyn advised but first thought to do a check. So I took the engine cover off and started looking around. Feeling back of the engine that's when I saw a good amount of oil. I wiped it off with a towel and drove it again the next day and again the same amount of oil.
Knock on wood after the repair no light and no significant amount of oil lost.
I checked and I do have room for a FMIC and I can fit a pipe from the rear to the engine so this is 98% a go. Just waiting on more info. The turbo guy doesn't have much experience with Mercedes he only once installed a Kleemann Supercharger on a 320 and this was a while ago. He is not too familiar with the new 350 engines so he said he'll get back to me.
We'll see I have high hopes

Well - all the leakdown test would have told you is no ring, valve guide & valve leak so you have saved some money. I will comment on the TC on your TC thread. After much measuring & looking at a turbo diesel I decided fitment would be hell up front & require cutting. I still don't like the aircleaner under the car as you can suck water etc & would change the plumbing to get the inlet up higher with the aircleaner in a nice cold air stream.

I know on those Cold Air intakes they have shields. Will something like that work?

Because you are not looking for maximum boost from the turbo & can afford to loose a little efficiency I would pipe the inlet back to the front of the car. A shield would not stop you flooding the turbo. It would help with splash etc.

Thanks Glyn,
We were deciding where to mount the turbo. Mounting it where the resonator is won't do the trick. The turbo will be too low to the ground, If i remove the muffler and mount it there it would work but again I don't want to do a cheap job so i'm still debating, maybe with a couple of more custom piping I might be able to fit it there. Removing the muffler and mounting the turbo would be the cheaper route and I won't need an Intercooler but again I'm not worried about the money rather than a clean job.
Also a snorkel kit would be easily possible if mounted where the muffler is. Other than that a shield will be used.

Bump, some people lately were having same issue. After they fixed the cam plugs I haven't got the message and I have still been beating the car.
Again, they changed the cam plug (rear), oil breather and PCV valve. The camplug was still leaking because the factory silicon was bad (supposedly). No problems (knock on wood) after the fix. With my warranty running out I had to find this leak myself (this is why I hate MB dealers).
