Flat Hood Emblem + Starless Grill.

Looks good or not? It's still my OEM grill, just changed out the vertical emblem.

Hopefully I'll be upgrading the audio. Subwoofers void warranty? Something about stress to the wiring/electrical components?

Oi! Back on goes the upright star!

I was walking back from Home-Depot today and there was a Hyundai, same color, parked near my c240. I was getting frustrated as to why my 'C240' wouldn't unlock from a distance. Then I realized both cars look astonishing similar, especially without the visable Benz ornament.

Gotta set myself apart from other makes first before even setting myself apart from other Benz owners!

I had the same setup on my old CLK... people kept referring to it as a BMW

As for subs, I just got some. It shouldn't void your warranty past the audio system. Depending on how it's wired, your electronics warranty as a whole should not be voided.

You already spent money on the flat hood badge and it does look good so keep it.

If your car looks like a Hyundai then you need to mod it more

Well, I'm going to disagree with all of you (just to be different lol). I like the stand-up ornament a lot better. While I know I'm driving a Mercedes, it's just nice to see it standing up at the end of the hood while I'm behind the wheel. I know it's been standard on the sedans, with the coupes getting the flat star for awhile, but I just like the look of it.

As an aside, I was looking through some online car configuration stuff, and stumbled upon that there is a no-cost option for a stand up ornament on the Cadillac DTS, but the flat emblem is now standard. I remember when the Fleetwood in the '80s used to be this huge wreath.

Just curious- I hear that the flat emblem creates a ring in the paint because the edges are sharp. Anything I can do about it?

i like the flat hood emblem but IMO... i think it only looks good on a sport sedan or if your car is modded. the luxury sedans or cars that arent modded look better with the star!

I like the flat badge and the wife likes the standup.

I think she uses it to "aim". ;-)

It's her car so guess what we're keeping....

After market one sits in the ring. The one from dealer covers the ring.

c180 sonny- Very nice! ..Although it'd be a bit awkward for me to use an AMG badge on my 240. The slowest w203 sporting the fastest w203's badge. lol

Do they have other designs? Where did you get it from?

I wanted a white star emblem, but the person who makes it is still trying to work something out with the factory's in China.

laneshift, I got mine (same as c180's) from JBSPEED. It's a thread close to the top in the exterior parts classifieds. I got the AMG badge because I LOVE the way it looks, not to try to pass as an AMG or anything. The only thing I have to say is that, after about 6 months, it's starting to have a couple, very little, spots of rust. Granted, I do live at the beach. Other than that, I love it. He has a good selection too. Many more badges than you would find anywhere else.

Funny thing is if you get the AMG kit (for example the S class with AMG rims and kit) it comes with and AMG badge.

But if you put Brabus on one side and AMG on another then you have a problem lool

One more thing the Logo is a sticker (atleast the lorinser that I got) so after a while the glossy sticker changes color.

The ream amg hood badge (metal) is pretty expensive. The ones that are sold on ebay or here are fake (knockoffs)

Yes, I forgot to mention that. My sticker has yellowed a little bit. It's not too bad, though, but for the price, it's worth it.

as far as I know there are no real AMG hood emblem. they're just the difference between a good one and a bad one. i might be wrong however. since i haven't studied the manufacturer option list that far out.
