Good or Bad idea to buy headlights with broken tabs?
I need to find some BiX headlights for my new C55. I've found a guy selling some used CLK BiX headlights, but they have broken tabs. He says they're fixed and when I asked him what he used he said "super glue." I offered him $500 and he came back and said $600. What does everything think about this? I guess if I bought them I'd find some badass epoxy or something to put around the tabs for reinforcement, but what is the likely hood of them breaking off again under normal driving conditions? Steve has some new headlights for $1200, which is a good price, but I would like to crack these open and get the housings painted black to match my car and I'm not so sure about doing that on some brand new lights.

that sounds expensive to me but i don't know what clk bix sell for usually. i paid less than that for my set of normal w203 bix in almost perfect condition. i do remember seeing a clk bix sell for like 250 for one and it was in perfect condition but that might have been a fluke. how much do the clk bix sell for on ebay usually?

I don't know, I can't find any. You got a smokin' deal on yours though buying them seperately. I paid $800 for the BiX I bought for my C230 which seems to be about the going price on a set for those. The set from Steve (mbenzml ?) is a great deal (since they're new and the price includes shipping from the Netherlands) but I really don't have that much money to spend, especially since I haven't sold my C230 BiX yet. These halogen headlights just suck though!

The tabs can be fixed but don't pay OTT for something that's less than perfect.

I just called my dealer and he said the tab repair kit is $320. Is that how much you paid? I've found a set of face lift BiX but they're missing all the tabs. The other set I found with the broken tabs at least comes with them.

The only thing I have been able to find is this repair kit for mounting brackets.
